    Semi auto for clays

Because it would have taken a magician to get it anywhere near a decent fit it jammed on 28 grams and the trigger pills were of Herculean proportions which there was no adjustment . It was £400  new dump it for £200! Then bought a beretta which works faultlessly and on first try shot 24ex 25 on...

    Semi auto for clays

I am beretta through and through but I did drop into the dark side a short while ago and bought one of the cheap Turkish semi autos. I shot one round of a 100 sporting and promptly got rid.

    Vat reduction

Grounds that raise prices to try and grab extra are indeed in the wrong and you can vote with your wallet but as far as I know the reduction in vat will not apply to clay shooting so people need not worry to much about a possible saving of 3 or 4 pounds . A bigger advantage would be if the new...

    Vat reduction

God forbid they make a profit from their investments. After all land and traps are so cheap along with staff wages etc

    Vat reduction

You have a choice if grounds raise prices because as you said people are keen to go shooting then don’t use those grounds.there was a flood of people booking for the first couple of weeks at grounds near me but now they are relative ghost towns most of the week.also many people like myself...

    Vat reduction

So the grounds have been closed for a few months so nil income. The clays they have in stock will have had the 20% vat on them so if they deduct the new rate from your round they will be losing money and businesses that lose money soon disappear.its a very complicated situation. The price of...

    MedCert

If forces are refusing to accept information from these then that’s another reason our organisations should have taken the case to court.not in line with h.o guidance and also I would say infringement of your human rights

    Vat reduction

I would not worry to much about a price reduction I believe most grounds are suffering and I would rather they keep the extra profit to help keep them in place.

    Ignoring doctors fee?

From what I see of the lincolnshire firearms dept you take the pre printed letter to your doctor pay the fee then wait to be instructed by the police to complete your online application. Any applications sent before they tell you to will be returned unprocessed.

    Ignoring doctors fee?

Or you could look at it from a different angle. Don't pay don't get renewed then pay to store your guns at an rfd for an unspecified period which I feel sure would cost a good deal more. Lodge them with a friend then only shoot when they do and where they do. It's a very unfair system we have in...

    Ignoring doctors fee?

Lincolnshire you have to take a preprinted form to your GP to ask them to complete and send in. So therefore it is the applicant who is requesting the information and they pay. This situation should have been nipped in the bud a few years ago but basc and the other organisations were more...

    What a waste!

Well looking at the picture I would say there really is not much of a waste there. I can't see any of that rubbish that would need to be taking up room in my cabinets. Also I always believed that gun amnesty is in place 365 days a year. If you find a gun in grandads loft after he has passed or...

    Seized

I only buy guns from a dealers that has in-house gunsmith. As was said earlier dealers will just unpack guns and put on racks with no checks and in some cases just get it from stockroom as it was delivered. Cars go through a pdi and so should all new guns and even more do used guns..

Consultation on proposed new firearms licensing

I have no problem with paying for the Gp's time to return information to the police. The cost should be a standard one across the board. The part that is hard to swallow is if the GP says I will not reply to firearms as I have personal objections. Then it seems the advice from this consultation...

Do snap caps actually prevent damage?

It's what forums are made for.as long as it doesn't descend into insults it's just fluffy rabbits.

Do snap caps actually prevent damage?

About right. I use them as I hope it saves my spring being under constant strain. A spring never breaks when it is under no load. If I do what I can to avoid a spring break and spoil my day then that's me. If you choose not to release springs that's OK. If your day was ruined by a spring in Al...

Do snap caps actually prevent damage?

That is very good. I hope I never have a spring fail. However I don't feel that trying to avoid it is wrong. I can't understand why some people get so excited about snapcaps.

Do snap caps actually prevent damage?

I release the trigger spring on my dt10 before putting in the cabinet. V springs left under stress have slightly more chance of breaking if stressed all of the time and unlike coils will definetly not work so shooting for that day is lost.

    Essex Masters

I have shot the essex for a few years now, didn't make last year as I was ill.. Booked in for the Monday this year. A great shoot and never had a problem there. I would imagine it is extremely hard work to organise and a nightmare getting two thousand or so shooters through without major problems.
