    Difference in different disciplines.

I am having a hard time moving past the Hi-Lo, Hi-Lo bit. I second the request for a recording!

    FITASC vs Super Sporting

This sort of division is exactly what the shooting sports community at large doesn't need. How does this benefit anyone? FITASC is going to have egg all over their face in any outcome, as not only are the disciplines different, many people actually enjoy both and who are they to say? From a...

    Dirty Barrels

I surely do, but if I can avoid excessive fouling (in comparison to other cartridges) I will, given similar results etc. While I like to look after the tools, less work means more shooting time.

    English skeet shooting

Would anyone know where to find this resource online? I don't think I still have a working DVD player in my house...

    English skeet shooting

Now wasn't there a guy selling books on here... J/K. Seriously, get lessons from an instructor that really knows what he's doing. It may look more expensive than messing about shooting round after round, but that is false economy. The more you struggle, the more shells you will waste trying to...

Thin young lad needs a no kick gun!

While a part of it maybe conditioning, one the others part is not giving the gun room to move. It has to firmly touch the shoulder and 'locked in' (my words) by the cheekweld. Any room to move the shooter gives the gun, will be used up by the gun in recoil. Imagine recoil like a slap to the...

Remember to put your glasses on

This (y). Every once in a while you get a reminder that even when safety is top of mind, a combination of bad luck and physics can surprise you. If one of those days ends with a scratched lense and nothing worse, thats still a good day. I may see about this repair service still.

Remember to put your glasses on

Second the above, good to hear you are not worse off. Besides hearing protection, it's shooting glasses and a baseball cap for me- every. single. time. I've had chunks of clay hit my head that would see me in stitches if not for the cap, and the brim offers some protection of your face against...

    Dirty Barrels

As for a serious reply, yes I do think the Gamebore steel cartridges leave barrels dirtier than some other brands. At my club the cartridges on offer (all steel, as lead has already been banned in NL for ages) are Gamebore 7 / 24, 7 / 28 and Mirage 7/24. The Mirage leaves the barrels a lot...

    Beretta 694 choosing nice wood

    Story of my life :D

    Beretta 694 choosing nice wood

That's another reason then. I'm sure they do lots of products, but I inferred the conversation saw to the classic "universal" oil. I'm naturally weary of any product that claims "over a 1.000 uses" and would personally tend towards exactly for purpose products, as you seem to do with Gunex and...

    Hull Sporting 100 paint issue

You would seriously consider wiping paint off of more than a thousand cartridges by hand? If it comes off of the cartridges by cleaning, it should come off of your stock too.. So first I'd see about cleaning the stock, and if it comes off with either the clay bar or diluted make-up remover...

    Beretta 694 choosing nice wood

If Ballistol works for you, then all good. Personally it doesn't come near my guns, for a couple of reasons. While its a lubricant, it evaporates in marginally high temperatures to leave a cruddy paste which will grind and wear the affected areas. As a rust barrier - great product except for the...

    Hull Sporting 100 paint issue

Hi YCS - Before you try sanding, try diluting a bit of make-up remover. Wet cloth and rub. Very diluted at first and then adding to build strength to the point where it removes the green but hopefully not the finish on your stock.

    Length Matters it seems….

Hard to tell, but from the above I infer that your eye placement is off (in relation to the rib) and the different lengths of the guns either mitigate this or make it worse. Sort that issue and you'll shoot better for it and with less influence by the guns individual characteristics. That said...

    Beretta 694 choosing nice wood

Congratulations on your purchase! In my experience Beretta currently finishes stocks with tru-oil on their modern line-up*. Please note that this name is misleading, as this is not an oil finish but rather a hardening polymer. If used correctly it can produce a really nice gloss (even glass...

    Hello from Wales!

I've given the new site a go and while a bit more clicks then before, I did find 13 Beretta stocks, including some for the 686 series. Not necessarily cheap though, so I'd still go with a few calls out to RFD who have a "bargain bin" or similar: Surely there are 686 stocks out there better...

    UK gunshop suggestion please

Is it just the reduced recoil, or are there other deviations from the "designs of yore" that make it stand out from all the others over those decades? You sound convinced, so genuinely curious. Also, what do you shoot normally?

    Hello from Wales!

Hi Barry, Shouldn't be too hard to find a spare 686 stock: When Guntrader was still useable, there were always a ton of Beretta stocks to be found under the "Parts & Equipment" / "Stocks" sections. Haven't been looking of late and the new site is harder to manage, but if you ring a few dealers...
