Are 32" barrels available in the 688 now in the UK? I have only seen the 30" version here in the 'states. I keep being told the 32" version is "coming."

I have seen someone trip and drop an unloaded gun on pavement (cart path).  It smushed the end of his extended choke, but the barrel "crown" was fine.  Can't say as much for the stock, tho.  

I consider them an excellent system, but a "splurge item."  Randolphs or Castellani's are fine, too.  If you look, you can find good deals on barely used Pilla lenses for $100 or so.  I never see a good deal on the "frames."

Adam:  Have you tried just removing any recoil pad/butt-plate, and removing the stock bolt? That might be all it needs without removing the screws.  Then again, I could be wrong.
