    Lead shot

Only used 32gr 4 steel in 12g and they were far too lively for lightweight guns.Have used a few 25gr steel in 20b and they work to a point...I was just wondering what can be achieved in loads for 6-6.5lb guns in game loads really.....I find 26gr No6 lead works fine...

    Lead shot

Given the lighter weight/volume of steel shot, surely the manufacturers could load 22-24 gram loads which would work in lighter game guns etc for normal game shooting . Or am I missing something?

    Who has what booked

We were blessed with a dry day on Wednesday thankfully! The ground conditions are atrocious everywhere now I`d guess but we had some well presented birds over us despite the wet underfoot. I did hear that some shoots have abandoned their season due to flooding ,uncut maize crops etc,etc .

    Stock Cast Adjustment - Nottinghamshire

Depends on the wood really....better the quality the more likely it will hold the adjustment.

eley superb felt what else compares

Don`t know but you get used to a cartridge then they change them, most recent is Blue Diamonds, used the last of a batch I`d been working through for a couple of yrs...bought another couple of slabs(luckily not more) ,different case ,printing & much more recoil ! The previous lot were a lovely...

eley superb felt what else compares

The greatest problem you`ll have is finding a cartridge that remains the same for long, manufacturers seem unable to keep them consistent !

    Miroku 7000

Better quality than current production, chopper lump barrels ,can have full length trigger guard tangs, panels & points etc. Basically all the big names have gradually cut corners on manufacturing methods ,so as to cut costs & maintain their profit margins...not to build better guns!

    End of season thoughts .

Ultimately the cost will go up as the bags were reduced, whether you are prepared to pay more for less will be a personal choice,no doubt largely governed by ability to pay. Sadly this will probably affect people who appreciate the smaller day!!!! One thing that I`ve noted is how few people...

    End of season thoughts .

Its always the greedy ones who spoil it ! I`ve watched a chap who is a regular at one shoot I visit and I  reckon he always shoots 50% more than he should. He can  shoot good stuff too but has to shoot at low stuff.....
