Cartridges , value for money versus cost

I may be very well mistaken here but isn't there a matter of law that states you cannot have more than 5000 cartridges held at home.  I would also have thought that the manufacturer is already selling those cartridges to the dealers / grounds so why would they sell them to a syndicate at less...

Agreed.  I think I will be getting a 32'' version after our cottage is sold and take my 30'' to Doveridge /Premier guns to have an adjustable comb raiser fitted to suit my wife.

Not sure why CG don't hold their price as they have established themselves with some big hitters using them. Mine is a 30'' which handles really well and I had some shots with a 32'' and again it shot very well indeed and to be honest just as good as my old DT10 but with a better grip.

    DT10 to a DT11 or vice versa

A little off topic but I always had a hankering for a Kemen trap but never actually shot one let alone bought one, sorry I strayed away, it comes with age....

Cartridges , value for money versus cost

Not sure if it is true but I was told that China is now the largest user of lead buying vast amounts for their own use which if true would go toward the issues of material shortages.

    DT10 to a DT11 or vice versa

I am not a DT11 owner so my experience is VERY limited however my DT10 was a great gun (like a fool I sold it) but when I was given the chance to try one, a 32'' as was my gun but in all honesty I found the 11 to be heavy compared to to my 10 and the palm swell to be not as comfortable but it is...

Cartridges , value for money versus cost

Some years ago, Beverly CTC now gone back to it's original name of East Yorks, used to sell Cheddite cartridges which at that time I had never even seen for sale before and whilst I didn't want to switch from the Fiocchi F-Blu, they were a decent shell as well as being well priced. Since the...

I had my cataracts done a couple of years ago which gave me near perfect vision but they have become a bit blurred now although it is more close up that gives me issues. I bought a few pairs of coloured shooting specs for both my wife and myself from John Bidwell's on one of our many trips there...

    Isis comb raiser?

Totally agree, a friend had one on her Beretta 692, very very good job which did the business perfectly.

    Revoked shotgun / firearms tickets.

£20k of so called legal cover but it doesn't seem to be there when needed.   I am not looking for advice in this matter Colin only to bring a thought provoking subject to everyone.Sorry it may have come across in the wrong way.

How things have changed on here.

Yes you got it Les, Nicola Heron, I liked her input and was going to go to Rugby to have a go at ZZ as she shot it there but never got round to it.

    Revoked shotgun / firearms tickets.

This is a subject that has been covered I am sure but I wanted to just run through something that has just happened to my shooting friend.  A few days ago I got a call from my friend saying he has just had a visit from the police, he thought to deliver his renewal shotgun / firearms...

How things have changed on here.

Ditto Les, and linked to the fact that I had company cars for most of my working life so free fuel ( what a culture shock when I retired) but now living on the East coast with East Yorks ground (Beverley) only 30mins away and what a ground. I do recall a lady shooter on here who used to be a...

Semi auto, love em / hate em.

I remember Duncan Lawton getting the world first 100 straight at sporting with his Remmy 1100 and him carrying loads of spares with him, on occasion doing a few repairs on site to keep it going to finish the competition of the day.

Interesting, I will have a look although I prefer to shoot o/u for trap anyway.

    Shooting after cataract surgery.

I had both eyes done just over 18 months ago and the difference is amazing particularly with my rifle shooting as I had to switch to left hand in order to see through the scope but the surgery sorted it. I do find that my eyesight is not as good as it was straight after the op but still far far...

Semi auto, love em / hate em.

I agree with you Les and as said it is not for use with a line of competitors, I was being light about it. There is a catcher available but they only work on certain guns and not that great.
