What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Funnily enough the chap who gave me this rifle also gave me a GAT  pistol which, like you, was my first entry into shooting, odd it may be but I am having the pistol fettled as the trigger takes two fingers to pull it and I want it right even though it will only be used for family fun. Strange...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Thanks guys, I think my friend did a lovely job and I know I would not have done anything like as good a restoration as he has done 😊 The photos do not show the stock off to how it really looks when the sun catches it but this one is a little better. Who would have thought a cheap little rifle...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

A few weeks ago I was given a rusty old junior air rifle which I was really pleased with because it was the same that I bought for my son when he was 8, he is now 49 so a long time ago. The gun in question was a Diana Model 16 so not a sought after item but to me it was simple, I wanted it...

    Eley Superbs

Another Superb lover here both 9 & 7.5 are used on sporting, the 9 shot on as many targets as possible. Like Hamster, I have used them for years until Eley almost went out of their way to upset dealers and ground owners in my area so for a couple of years I switched to Cheddite Trap Oro but...

Dt10 height of Combe relating to seen rib

trap, skeet or sporting as the position will be differeng. I agree with Will regarding the use of the mirror to check your mount but don't just do this a couple of times as repeatability is vital. Phil

Benelli 828U Sport - tried one

I have been curious about this gun for a little while and whilst in the RFD the other day, I saw he had a s/h gun which I might try out on Thursday at Beverley. I had a look at the range of guns online but as yet it is still quite limited as the Sport is only available with 30'' barrels. The...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

A follow on from a couple of days ago regarding the Bowman trap my pal and myself brought back to life. God knows how long it stood out in all weathers but we bought it anyway. BEFORE Then a little welding, rip off the badly rusted seat, remove as much rust as possible, remove the arms and...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Been busy with some renovation work on a Bowman trap my pal and myself bought for a bit of fun. It has been left out in the rain a little bit too long, it will however be spot on in a very short while. Phil

My two laps had Me c Grabbers and I had a Pacific, all were much higher production levels than the Loadall but never heard of any problems although of course trying to make them more cheaply could have adverse effects during ownership. Still want one though. Phil

Ian just a thought, I have not been reloading for many years and I was thinking if I go back into reloading, I would want to get the loaded cartridges checked before using them. Now I may be wrong but I have a hunch that Clay and Game offer this service. Might be worth a look if you have doubts...

Very nice but one has double cards so I assume that one is for second barrel, only one mind. Positive thinking there.  😇         I like the bulls as well.  Phil

    Custom gun fit?

I think it is fair to say that once we get an idea in our heads, it can take some shifting. If you have a nagging doubt about your gun fit, hold on to your money until you have spent a few sessions with a GOOD coach and let him establish if the issue (assuming there is one) is with you or the...

My Gun is Better Than Yours - Please Explain Why

I have had Beretta 680 which was my introduction to the company back in the early 80's then followed by an assortment of 682,  followed by a mental problem causing me to move away from Beretta for a few years but thankfully the pills worked and came back to Beretta with a DT10 and will not do...

John Longstaff, now there is a name from the past. I used to buy boxes of 1000 mixed Eley cartridges minus the lead so we chopped the cases and save all the powder then remove the primers. I also had a friend who often bought in lead shot which I shared out with lads at the club as most of us...
