    First OT straight

So last weekend the boy and I shot the third OT selection shoot at Beverley. Picked up a new (to me) 29.5inch MX2000 at 9.00am on Saturday morning, dropped my stock on and at 9.30am walked straight on to the first squad of the day with it. Had intended to have a few practice rounds with it on...

    footwear

Being pedantic they are not 'shooting specific footwear'. They are actually weight lifting (powerlifting specific) shoes. DT

When I say flat I mean even, although level is also good. There are couple of layouts (at Nutty and at Rugby) where the concrete is breaking up under the mat so your feet are not flat i.e. partially standing in a hole. I end up shuffling till I find a flat bit, usually at the back of the mat. DT

Do you want sauce with those? Actually I saw a few pairs of these at Beverley at the weekend, including the high gun (I think?). Maybe something in it?? I'd be happier if the grounds ensured the concrete was actually flat under the rubber mats!! DT

    Help With Concentration Technique

Amen to that! Been guilty of this soooo many times its annoying. The minute I start to work out what I could score (either that round or overall score) is the point I miss the next target :(   Can almost predict it I'm getting so good at it  DT

    New Fail to Fire rules

Looks like the Health & Safety Police have been at it again    https://www.cpsa.co.uk/news/cpsa-hq/2016/06/08/cpsa-advice-to-referees I hate it when they change a rule but provide no explanation as to why? The old rule worked perfectly safely as far as I am concerned so why...

    New Classification Averages are out

Interesting point about grounds submitting above average scores. Not sure there are enough of them to affect the national averages though? I guess its just bad luck on those that shoot exclusively or predominently at those grounds. You need to get about a bit more :) DT

    New Classification Averages are out

They bloody well should be ...buts that a whole different discussion. DT

    New Classification Averages are out

Not sure I understand? You say you haven't shot a registered target for the last 4 periods but I see 2 qualifying shoots at Horne in period 50 and 9 shoots (at three separate grounds) in period 49. How is that not shooting a registered target in the last 4 periods? cut off periods are twice...

    New Classification Averages are out

Can't look as you don't reveal your full CPSA number. If you have not shot a registered comp in the last period then you cannot change class as a minimum 100 targets must be recorded to change class.  Best give them a call. DT

    whats going on?

The website and FB pages all work OK for me Les? Must be Yokelnet playing up again.  Can't answer the lack of phone response though? DT

    New Classification Averages are out

Personally I think they (CPSA) are correct. The dropped score effectively didn't count so you have only shot 80 targets. Minimum 100 targets required to up a class or even two in your case. By my reckoning you should be in AA with an 87.5 average. If you don't shoot it again this period you will...
