    Noob Again - Lead

I've just discovered that if you move your cursor over a contributors profile (section on the left of a post with name, joined, location etc) you are offered the option to Gift, Follow or Ignore. Do with this information as you will...but it has preserved my sanity tenfold! You are all most...

    Miss fire!

If it's consistently the bottom barrel, that would imply the firing pin...or at least the force exerted by the hammer/spring. I had a similar issue with my old Winchester Platinum Select and the gunsmith mentioned that the angle of the firing pin (on this model at least) required a...

    LH Eye Dominance

100% agree… I’ve recently put a shotgun up for sale with my local firearm dealer only to find that its being advertised as ‘left handed’. I’m right handed and the gun has a shallow right hand palm swell but, based on the slight cast, it‘s being advertised as left handed? I’m not sure how this...

    Pilla -why so dear?

Way before you start spending £££s on Pilla (or any shooting glasses for that matter) I'd suggest getting an eye test to make sure you have 20:20 vision. Surely the first port of call for anyone in this game should be to ensure your eyesight is A1! We all assume we can see fine but reckon most...

    Adjustable Comb: Feels like home??

I wonder… Do you think a shooter would naturally mount their gun differently after it’s been rebalanced? Whether conscious or not, is it reasonable to suggest that a change in balance, whether that be additional or less weight at either end, would affect the natural biomechanics on how your...

    Adjustable Comb: Feels like home??

Hi Ben, Assume you mean at the stock end?? Are fixed combs and adjustable combs comparable in weight? Thanks,

    Adjustable Comb: Feels like home??

Thanks all for the feedback. As I mentioned, standard stock dimension are there or thereabouts for me which is great but I think the small adjustments enabled with an adjustable comb could potentially help go from a good natural fit to a great off the shelf fit. Aesthetically I’d prefer a...

    Adjustable Comb: Feels like home??

Morning, I’m looking to trade in my 692 after 4yrs excellent service and move to a 32” DT11; a fantastic gun which I’ve gotten on well with recently. Given that I’ve never had a shotgun with an adjustable comb before (and most Beretta’s roughly slot around me quite naturally) I’ve found myself...

    Journalism in this country

I’m not even sure it classes as shifting blame. Sound more like shifting responsibility to me. Now I don’t have any statistics on this but I’d say there are more fatalities as a result of knife crime than gun crime currently. Fortunately though, they’ve not been round to raid the kitchen draws...

    Newcomers to our sport.

Hhhmm… a tricky one to call but, as with progression in any sport, you really do need to be ‘ready’ before you take the next step and from the above overview, I’m not sure your friend was ready. A local 100bird club shoot etc is fine but if you’re going to go to a competition and put yourself...

    Try before you buy

Thanks for all the help and advice folks. I’m Home Counties so Barbury is a really convenient option for me. In truth, I suspect I’m a way of from taking the plunge but half the fun is trying things out, doing your research and endlessly dreaming of buying a new shotgun, right?? Cheers all, H

    Try before you buy

Morning folks, I'm keen to look at upgrading my shotgun to a 694 or possibly DT11 but before I get carried away and head off with a bag of cash, does anyone have any recommendations on where I could try these guns? Whilst I'm sure the obvious response is a local shooting ground, I didn't know...
