    CPSA V BASC

Not really. The only thing it's good for is tracking your scores if you are a competition shooter. If I wasn't a comp shooter I think I'd probably choose BASC over the CPSA, at least BASC gets you free tickets to the Game Fair.

    Difference in different disciplines.

All I know is that with Skeet you can sing the order of the targets to the dwarves song from Snow White!

    New Browning release - 825

His is a lot older, must be getting on for 10 years. I've had my K-gun for 8 years and he got it before then.

    New Browning release - 825

Yeah, spotted that a while ago. Husband doesn't want to spend that much on a gun as he doesn't shoot anywhere near as much as I do, but I'm tempted to buy him one for Xmas anyway.

    New Browning release - 825

725 trigger is a pile of cack. It's some weird halfway-house between mechanical and inertia. My husband has shot one for ages and every 100 or so trigger pulls the pull weight increases for no apparent reason. If it's gone back to a similar trigger to the 525 that wouldn't be a bad thing and...

    Who Doesn't like A Semi....?

Go look at Charlie Faulds Youtube videos of competition finals and shoot offs from a load of the major comps this year. See how many semi-autos you spot. That'll probably answer your question on what the 'professionals' use better than a US forum post.

    Who Doesn't like A Semi....?

You wanted thoughts, not an argument which is better. I gave you my thoughts and now you want to argue with them. I own both a K80 and an A400. And an MK38 and a couple of Turkish ones in 20 and 410. I grew up in a council house is south london, don't think that's terribly elite in most...

    Who Doesn't like A Semi....?

My thoughts - they jam or fail in some way much more often than an O/U, they hurt my thumb when I load them, they make a mess, it pisses off refs when you smack them with ejected cartridges. I own one, but unless I'm at a comp specifically for semi-autos or where Beretta guns have to be used it...

    FITASC vs Super Sporting

Twats. FITASC Sporting is pretty niche in the UK, bet they end up losing more shooters than the gain by doing this.

    Riddle me this……?

Even if they are perfectly parallel, without any convergence built in at all, the less than an inch difference is going to have bugger all effect on hitting a clay when you take the size of the cloud of pellets into account.

    UK gunshop suggestion please

Depends what you want to spend. If you are looking at a new Kreighoff, any of the main dealers will set you up and you can go to Germany where they will fit and make the stock for you. Sporting Targets was the dealer I got mine through, but there are others inc Coleys as mentioned above. If...

More misses than an unmarried womens convention

I very occasionally get an issue with low, close incoming targets from the right that don't really need lead. I think I'm shooting straight at them but I'm actually missing just behind (having been told by a coach looking over my shoulder). If I dim my left eye and shoot at them they break. I...

    Shoot reports and news 2024

In one case where that's happened I know it's because the individual had a beef with the CPSA, so they joined the Scottish one instead. Still get their scores recorded etc, but don't have to give any money to an organisation that they have no faith in. I can understand that. All sporting...

    Purely Theoretical But…..

My comment related specifically to registered shoots, that's what I want more opportunities for. I shoot Willow Farm at Tenterden all the time. Dartford leave the same sporting targets on for months at a time so there isn't much point going there. It takes me almost as long to drive to...

    Purely Theoretical But…..

You've got so many options for registered sporting comps within 2hrs I'm deeply envious. I can confirm that Battle, East Sussex is possibly the worst location to live for clay shooting.

    Purely Theoretical But…..

No Reg Sporting and 46p a clay for pay-and-play is taking the piss.

    Purely Theoretical But…..

Can I come visit? Love Lake Garda, but also love sporting, so not for me.

    Purely Theoretical But…..

Probably, because we're a smaller country and there is less distance to travel between shoots. While they might have some huge grounds in the US there would be a lot of travel to get the variety that we can. However, I can't ignore the rest. I could never live in a country where so many...

    Purely Theoretical But…..

There would be other factors than clay ground availability that would make me not want to move to the US. Staying in the UK, my conclusion on it is that Market Harborough is the optimum location for access to clay shooting grounds.

    How to get better?

I like taking driven targets out in front and couldn't see them early enough to hit them where I would want to. Ended up shooting them really late as they were going away, dropped one of the 2nd targets - tried taking it a little earlier and was offline. Angle as a crosser was horrible, I...
