    Blaser F3 feedback ?

Heroic sporting injury before we started, if you remember. Then fatigue brought on by scoring all day, leading to my utterly failing to recognise that my eye dominance had switched over to the left eye. Once I had realised what was going on all was well but the damage had been done. Stand 4...

    Blaser F3 feedback ?

Now that hurts, Schmokinn. It hurts mostly 'coz you're  dead right, of course. The episode to which you refer was dire, wasn't it.

    Blaser F3 feedback ?

If mine was stolen or lost I would be round to Mulliner's the next day to order exactly the same again. It is a 32" Competition Sport, and I really wouldn't want to change anything about it. The perceived recoil is very slight.

    Perazzi Back Boring

I'm still hugely enjoying the concept of "Hogwarts Physics", and I rejoice that it is alive and well on this forum. Can we do the one about barrel length next?

410 vs 12 Bore (Pattern Test)

I was a bit astonished that anyone would do their pattern testing around buildings, especially with the pattern plate so close to an open door. ..

    "Hogwarts Physics" Love it

    Perazzi Back Boring

"But what back boring is alleged to do, when shown graphically, is to increase the timebase of the recoil pulse and lower the peak amplitude thereby turning the thwack of the recoil into more of a push" How exactly?

    Perazzi Back Boring

One always has to bear in mind a possible profit motive when service providers advocate a particular service! Vast amounts of effort and experiment have gone into the search for the holy grail of the ideal dimensions of a shotgun barrel, right from the early days when "The Field" held...

Another way to spend money on chokes

This is good news indeed. I've been dying to use the word "meretricious" for years, and here's my big chance. And on the same day I learnt the word "sprauncy" from Westward. Exquisite.

    Kids - Selfish B*****

Kids can be great - my stepdaughter has announced today that she is happy to anti-foul the boat!

    Commonwealth games

'Fraid not, I have just been searching for it. I did manage to catch the last few minutes live this morning, which rather astonished me as I fear the Beeb isn't exactly shooting-friendly. In case you haven't heard the result I won't post it here! I managed to find video of the women's skeet...

    New Blaser.

Good luck with your Blaser. I wouldn't swap mine. If it was stolen I would be straight back to the shop for another.

    Blaser Barrel weights/chokes

Or of course there's always: http://www.pshqeurope.com/blaser-chokes.aspx "maybe a Perazzi one day" - why downgrade?

    indoor shotgun

I'm waiting for the version with blued barrels, colour case-hardened action and a grade 8 walnut stock. But seriously, I have forced my dear wife to watch the video, shown her thing on ebay, and have pointed out that I have a birthday coming up...

Another one bites the dust - well only a little bit

No, Schmokinn, it is apparently due to a growing awareness that there's a "change in what people want". Instead they will have a monthly club shoot, the exact format to be decided after customer feedback and views as to number of targets, type of prize, etc. Naturally one wishes them well.

Another one bites the dust - well only a little bit

I understand from their recent newsletter that Purbeck Shooting School have stopped doing their monthly Registered English Sporting. As I see it that means the only registered shooting in Dorset is their FITASC. Dam' shame.

    A Beginner's Dilemma

A second hand Beretta or Browning really ought to come with a set of chokes. These luxury ABS cases (luxury? really?) - is that the sort of thing you would actually use? Ever? For me its mostly a gunslip.  And it has to be said that the "extensive warranty" on a bargain basement gun may well...
