I just wondered if there was any advantage / disadvantage in using a slip. would the guns sweat more or would the insulation of a slip keep the gun at a more stable temperature ?

Thanks for that Mick, and yes I can do that. I just wondered if it was normal to have the stock secured with a screw. If it should be a hex bolt does that mean that someone has messed with it. Keith.
