I'm thinking of buying some sporter (multichoke) barrels for my 682 Trap gun, mainly because my local ground often throws a report rabbit at 10 -15 yards and with full choke its like shooting with a rifle.

The question is; what's the deal with licensing? Do they go on my licence in the same way as a new gun or can I hold them legally without being declared?

What a faff! Just buy some express fibre 21g. They spread as much as any choke combo will ever do for you.

They have to go on your license, where are you going to find them? you won't get new ones and you will have to buy a used gun or find a wrecked gun with good barrels? (NO chance). :fie:

Are they that bad??
Sorry couldn't resist :) fair point though and might have a go, but to be honest I only tend to buy in 1000s of trappie stuff.

For the price of 3000 carts I can get an additional set if barrels, which on my case would in the long run be easier and less hassle than having to buy odd boxes of different cartridges. I tend to decide on the spur of the moment to go round the sporting if a group I know are going round.

Sorry wrong !

I had a Remington 1100 with 3 barrels non other than the gun was on my certificate there were no serial no on the barrels just the action

Deershooter

I'm not going to get into a pissing match over this subject, check with the police.

All my Remmie spare barrels are all on license. Remmie barrels are on as description with no numbers. My K two sets barrels all on my cert with numbers.

Update:- I've now got some additional barrels. Fixed choke 1/2 & 1/2 which I initially though of having teagued but on reflection might just leave as is.

The licence issue:-

The rule is; If the additional sets are the same Bore there is no requirement to add them to a certificate the serial number on the receiver is the determining factor.

If they are different calibre (12/20) then they do?

in my case then there was no need to add them, However as I like to occasionally travel abroad I have had them added to save any undue questions at Borders etc.
