seems to me that unlike trap many esp targets require that you aim at or close to em. ??

therefore I am interested in what my learned friends consider to be the best type / colour of front bead thing ??

or am I totally wrong about the aiming thing ??

Should not be looking at the bead - lets put this to bed now  :D

There are certain targets that I find (hanging crow, slow incomer) I need to rifle them but still wouldn't see the bead. Your eyes can't focus near and far at the same time if you come back to the bead you won't see what the clay is doing.

"Rifle" is a verb used in clay shooting to mean lining the bead up with the clay, but you still don't focus anywhere other than the clay.

Miyagi say, "Always look clay!"

exactly, I am experienced enough to never look at my bead BUT on certain targets as Gavin points out (I don't know what there called) seems to me you can't just point and squirt.

go beadless is the way forward IMO of course

How you manage to hit anything without having a bead amazes me. I've fitted a flip up rear sight from an old BSA air rifle on the back of my beretta . I did have to file the groove out a bit though as the front bead was to big for it. I get a perfect aim now.

My shooting turned a corner when I drew a dotted orange line down the middle of the rib.
