I’ve managed to get booked on to Churchill’s STP and ESP on Wednesday.   I hope the weather stays good or at least dry.  Hope to see some of you there.

it’s pissed it down here for 3 weeks . I put a wheelbarrow out today , it had 4” of water in it before dark . I’ve just been down to the Shibden Mill Inn for tea , and had to push a bow wave with my Scooby whilst crossing the beck in the valley bottom  . The forecast for the next week is , pissing it down , monsoon , and build a f***ing ark .

Ive got  a lesson booked on Wednesday at Kelbrook for a game season that’s not going  to happen during November, but I’ll still go as it could be my last chance to shoot clays for a month . Oh the fun of living in the Pennines .

Looks like shooting going to be cancelled for another month, just as I was going through a purple patch.  Just my luck.
I thought so too but looking at the news update on the CPSA website, perhaps not.

Well Golf/Tennis has been told to close, so shooting surely will to

To me pulling the trigger is just part of a social activity , whether it be clays or game . The not travelling  with mates / no breakfast / lunches  / dinners   . No standing in a group and socialising .  The effect on me will be that , not missing the act of shooting , and I’m sure that will be case with golfers , ten pin bowling teams , indoor cricket ...

I don't think there will be any exemptions. Listening to BJ in Parliament yesterday he was asked specifically about golf (which is very low risk) and he said no. Sorry to be so negative but I think it is time to count your cartridges and re-watch some videos on cleaning your gun.

P.S. I do not play golf. I know I post some silly stuff, but there is a limit.

And since then Gove has said golf is allowed. He's since backed down on that.

Be nice if, during a pandemic, we had a government that knew its arse from its elbow.

Better stockpile cartidges for the post lockdown rush and price increase. :D
Mildly nervous about what our government intends to impose, another press conference tonight. If even clay-shooting (as an outdoors, socially distant, low-risk activity) would be subject to (further) restrictions, I reckon the entire industry would be among the many that suffer.

If that's the case (and I really hope it won't be) you just might see more bargains than you'll care for in the foreseeable future. Everything must go kind of deals. 😟

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all the grounds and clubs that have entertained us over the summer. The refs and ground staff and everyone else involved. It's been  a massive effort. It's been different for sure but very enjoyable.  The squads and such have meant we've met many new people , at a distance , of course.

Hoping that this lockdown is short lived. See you all on the other side.

Jasper.

Had 100 ESP at Barby Sporting on Wednesday, cracking layout and a beautiful day, the Blaser had a thorough clean afterwards and I'd be surprised if we get the opportunity to shoot again this year.

Haven’t cleaned mine yet. Saving it up as a lockdown treat. 😆
