I bought some Armusa Trap-28 cartidges recently in 7.5 and 8 (plastic wad) from Southdown Gun Club in Sussex. At £185/1000 I wasn’t sure what to expect but overall I liked them. The size 8 were more than adequate on pretty much everything on the sporting layout and up to the task of first barrel DTL. The 7.5 gave really good breaks at distance and on second barrel DTL. I didn’t pattern them so I can’t say how tight they were out of my 3/8 and 3/4 choke gun. I googled Armusa and they are Spanish and the Trap-28 cartridge is approx 1200 FPS.
I thought the felt recoil to be no different to my normal cartidges. My only criticism was they felt noisier to me. Bizarrely my shooting partner didn’t notice any audible difference.
I believe Southdown are planning to stock them as one of their standard cartridge supplier’s.
Anyone else tried them?
