Oooooooooh . . . . . . that was a real toughie today Mr Moss

Still a thoroughly enjoyable day. Look forward to trying for a better score in the New Year

Thanks for your support.......scores will be up tomoz on our Facebook page.

High Gun......Karl Hagan 98/100 !!!!!!!!!

Joint 1st in AA was Sam Green & Henry Arnold on 91/100

Never shot at this ground before and as I've decided to shoot some registered comps now, I thought I would give this SG a try, but looking at those scores you'll have to use the 'scroll down' feature for a bit to reach my name.  What's the ground like Guy?

Barrow Heath is a really nice and friendly ground. Phil Moss sets the targets and they vary from close and quick to far and fast with a few easier ones to bring a smile to everybody's face.

They are now running registered comps every other Sunday. Last Sunday was generally pretty difficult, despite an amazing score of 98 by some clever git  :p

I only managed a 68, and a 72 two weeks previously, but its all a BIG learning curve for me and the missus. Had a chat with Henry Arnold and he confirmed it was a tough layout, but Phil does change it EVERY shoot so its just exciting to wait and see what he throws at you.

Small but comfortable club house with the usual hot and cold nosh and beverages.

Stand 1 starts just behind the club house, and then its a pleasant walk through the woods for the most part, with a couple of stands at the end out of the woods, and not particularly muddy despite huge rainfalls.

We have only really taken to regular Sporting over the past few weeks, and have only done three reg comps ever, but we have visited quite a few grounds, and we do like it at Barrow Heath. I think in the Spring once the trees and bushes are in full leaf, it will be spectacular.

Sounds good, the next two shoots there are 6 & 20 of Jan. so hopefully I'll get to at least one of them.

There is a shoot this Saturday 29th December, 100 ESP Reg......entries from 9-00 untill 2-30.

Hot food and refreshments, Toilets, Pool shoot

Shot this today, my score was crap but an interesting variety of targets.  I normally just try to hit 50%, anything more is a bonus, but if I'd looked round this shoot before I shot it I would have known that 50% was out of the question so 41 it was.  Following other people shoot and watching them hit targets and then having a go yourself and discovering some of those I could also hit was encouraging though - it was just inconsistency that let me down on some stands - how can you hit three and then miss the next two, what's that all about?  Other stands I had absolutely no idea how to hit them, especially low quartering birds.  More practice required, prob. do High Lodge next w/e.

Good set of targets today, enjoyed it a lot. Messed two stands up but happy with the rest, good job Phil.
