I'm vaguely toying with the idea of upgrading from my Silver Pigeon 1 and was having a browse on Chris Potters website.  Looks like he has a couple of DT10's in at the moment, one with 30" barrels the other with 28".

I keep reading bad things about faults with the latest model Beretta's, particularly the DT11 and the 692.  Is it worthwhile going for a DT10 to avoid these issues?  And if I do which one - 28" or 30"?

My current gun has 28" barrels and a 13.5" stock (because I'm short) and I'm slightly concerned if I go for 30" barrels and get the stock shortened the balance will be off.

Excellent gun try to get a later one with Beretta written In capitals on action rather than lower case which signifies early model. Some of the very early ones were rumoured to have issues but I have never had one that early so cannot comment. Try to shoot one first as they are like a F1 car you can either drive one or you can't. Not everyone can get on with them they are usually very fast handling.

Good luck.

BEBO, there is nothing wrong with the DT10 but as you are a shortass I am guessing you are of small build? I tried a DT10 30" but found then too heavy on short and quick targets!

As much as it pains me to say it I don't believe the DT10 would be worth the change in your case. They're heavier than average and not particularly barrel light either, as you say a short stock and 30" barrels could well not gel.

Some Miroku's have lighter barrels, Salopian could advise ? How about one of the new CG lady guns ?

Try one! In my experience of asking people they tell you what they like to shoot, don't buy a gun or model, try it and buy it by feel, I have a dot 10 and am very happy with it but that's because it suits me,

Good luck!

I am suprised at the replies saying there heavy I have found the trap models to feel well balanced, light and very fast. Maybe the sporters are different, what weight are the sport er barrels my std DT is 1500 I think.

well Jenny, I know your not slight of build,,,, but I`m surprised a dt10 fits,, do you see a lot of the rib ?  ask to swop your gun for a day, and try  out the dt10,? you may well need to change the `fit` a bit to suit,  but it needs to suit you about 85% on first use,,

Yes, my DT10L sporter even with 32" barrels is only 8lb, hardly heavy.

Shooting guru, not slight of build just female.

Hamster, I just can't bear the look of the CG Syren.  The rose carved into the stock looks like a prison tattoo.

Jim, haven't tried one so no idea how much rib I'd see. I'll try to pop up to Potters and see if I can take one of them to West Kent for a try.  Don't tell Steve I'm hankering after a new gun :)

:fie:  Sorry Jenny, I would have been more eliquent had I realised?  I am 5' 7"  14stone and old and they are are too heavy for me.

No need for an apology, your post was perfectly polite.  I'm 5'4, middle aged and I ain't confessing what I weigh :)

12stone 4 lb 5'10" very good looking.

What Was The Question ?

I know a young lady who shoots a DT10 very well on occasion.

She certainly isn't tall, the stock's been made for her and it works well.

As for gun speed she can shoot in front of pretty much anything within 35yards with ease.

It's trying to slow her down that's the challenge.

I'd consider any DT10 iv shot a fast handling gun
Agreed.

The steadiest one I have ever owned or shot is the eell. I think the extra weight from the sideplate between the hands just calms the handling down. My std DT10 is lightening fast.

Ok, after reading the above, I'm going to have to get my hands on a DT10 & 11 to try, wanted to change this year and you've got me all interested :) now where did I hide all that money !!!!! :hunter:
