Hi

Could anybody know the reason for non ejection of spent case on top barrel.

It seems case trips over ejector. If you open and close gun you can sometimes coax the case to come out. Everything has been cleaned and polished. Gun 687 el game.

Thanks

Is it only with one type/make of shell? Is the ejector worn?

I dont think so, although i mainly use 30gm black gold game.

Thanks
You could try some different shells, or even put a snap cap in there and see what happens. I do remenmber many years ago speaking to a guy who had a Winchester, he had the same problem if he used Victory shells. He changed shells and the problem went away!

Hi, when you say it is cleaned and polished, what have you done with regards "polish" ensure you take out the ejectors completly and check for any slight raised burrs on the lower rounded part of the ejector, what can sometimes happen is that this can "pick up" slightly and cause the ejector to drag and not have the energy requred to lift the case when it has slightly deformed in use, some cartridges do not deform as much as others and so this problem can be reduced, but it is worth a close inspection of your ejectors. cheers, Growl.

Does it come out if you eject them clear..behind you maybe ?

Or do they get stuck when you hold your hand over them to catch them ?

not fully understanding the symptoms but beretta usually suffer from ejector timing issues either too early or to late/not at all. As you mention having to "coax" an eject by opening / closing barrels I suspect the timing is to late. I have had a few beretta with this problem. If its a new gun then time and use will wear the ejector in if its not new then its a 2 minute job for a gunsmith to alter. It can be done yourself but unless you know exactly how to do it you can make it even worse. If the above is totally wrong interpretation of the fault you are experiencing and the ejector is working but going over the cartridge then your cartridges do not suit the beretta.

As it happens when i'v taken say at least 10 left and rights in quick succesion (getting hot), after a shoot on saturday i will see if the cleaning has worked.

If not, its down to the gunsmith to check the timing. I have used black gold 30gms through the gun last season with no faults so i think timing could be the issue not the shell.

Thanks

It's not quite clear to me if the ejector is firing okay but not aligned with the rim of the shell or if it's the ejector not firing properly. If it's the 1st option it would probably be wear causing the ejector to get sloppy in the channel which in turn allows the ejector to slip past the shell head instead of firing it out. Either way a visit to the gunsmith should sort it out in no time.
