Folks,

I have a brand new Browning 525 which is fantastic.

How ever ive only really used semi-autos in the past, I am happy with barrel cleaning but have never removed ejectors before.

So how offen do you remove your ejectors for a good clean and also are there any online guides/videos on how to do it ?

On a Browning they are a pretty rattley and open fitting, so very little need to remove I found. Just clean in situ. Maybe others disagree..

Ejectors on your gun are dead easy to remove, just take out those little screws you can see through the holes in the ejector plate! Very easy and quick job! How often depends on use of course!

Yes, have to agree with Les the ejectors are easily removed on the Browning guns. Just bear in mind that unless you have a well fitting turn screw of the correct size, each time you remove the pins (screws) you run the risk of damaging them. I find it better to use a pipe cleaner to clean under the extractors and the occasional drop of oil dripped down from the front (muzzle) end of the ejector legs and the legs slid up and down a few times to disperse the oil. Job done.

..and prob wise to have loctite handy as well when you reassemble.  Not hard to do but when I did it recently on my two Brownings, there was nothing much there in any case!  I agree that there isn't much need to remove them and nothing that a little oil can't keep in good working order.

I too have a Browning 525 and agree wholeheartedly with the view of not removing them, as said, wee drop of oil and a good clean round should suffice....never removed mine and hope not to .....

Ooh..Turnscrews and Pins....that takes me back! I remember making my set of Turnscrews :)

I can't get one of mine out as the screw rounded out, so I leave them well along, I clean under mine with a cotton bud on a stick (the ear ones) and a bit if oil.

Lay barrels on their side, slide out ejector, clean out muck with cotton bud where ejector seats into the barrel face. Spray with oil, clean off with rag, job done.

HDAV,

There is a need to clean under the injectors, you would be suprised if you saw the amount of powder flakes that can collect under there UNLESS,...................... of course you use them there Fiochi thingy's !

Just getting tin hat and trench coat !

I would i took them out of a 20 year old 3800 and there was nothing there............... I guess the 7 year old 525 can wait another 13 years..............

Please note that one of the worst jobs a gunsmith has , is to drill out broken ejector pins in Browning / Miroku  caused by owners not using correctly ground turnscrews (screwdrivers) if you don't know what you are doing , leave well alone.
