any thoughts on the browning 525 trap one  as a high stocked sporter ,   couple in at doveridge   I will write to santa .

My dad has received a left handed one this week to use as a game gun. Looks to be a very nice piece of kit. Nice tight pistol grip with slight palm swell, nice trap height comb, 12mm motorway top rib, ventilated top and mid rib, invector plus chokes, beaver tail forend. In 30" barrel balances 1/2" in front of the hinge pin, weighs dead on 8lb. So far it's ticking all the boxes for trap stocked sporter.

My Dad has an mk38 grade 5 adjustable trap as he likes a nice high comb, but in right hand when he is left handed. So far he really likes his trap 1 and I think it will be his go to gun for game and sporting from now on and the mk38 could be kennelled up for a while.

Definitely worth a look.

I've heard of a few people using them and getting on with them. I think I read somewhere that although they are designated 'trap' there are actually more akin to the hi rib style sports from the likes of Guerini

I must admit after shooting my hi-rib for about 12 months I find a normal rib quite uncomfortable and somehow cramped now....spose you used to things after a while.
