As some of you know I have "come by" a new gun. In the summer I bid on a gun at Richard and Tania's Charity day.
Long story short this is the gun from that bid.
I thought I would share it with the Shootclay members.
It's a Summit Ascent 30"
Comes as standard with an adjustable stock and adjustable trigger for LOP.
Very nice wood and a full compliment of Maxis chokes.
It weighs 8lb 10oz out of the box.
As you see it has a 10mm raised rib but not super high.
It's designed to give a more "head up" mount for better target acquisition.
Arrival day after collection from my RFD
I shot FITASC as Coniston. Hmmm baptism of FIRE. 41/100 scored. It was long, too long for me and it punished me shooting gun down.
I did shoot DTL and scored my best score ever 24/25 only two second barrel scores. So it shot where I wanted.
I asked Ed for advice as to where to get the stock adjusted.
He advised Malcolm Jenkins, brilliant news as he is ten minutes from my work.
We mounted the gun a few times and quickly he ascertained the length and pitch required.
I asked for a wood butt plate.
Nothing he had would fit so he said he would make one.
What a cracking guy so many stories.
Nicky T had some chokes ready for me so I'm fully Mullered up too.
Here is the finished gun.
Butt plate.
Old rubber plate with off cut to show pitch change.
So now the learning starts with the new gun.
Sent from my mobile that's my excuse for typos and errors.
