Hmmmmm . . . . . . what d'yer reckon?

Ok, well of course these things are always subjective. I have one so I think they are great. Well actually not a Maxum, but I do have the CG Apex and my wife has the CG Essex. And we are both thrilled with the guns.

However I do know a few people who have the CG Maxum and I havn't heard anything but praise from them either. In fact I have never heard any CG owner complain about their gun. I'm sure there are some, because that's life and we all have our own preferences.

CG did have a poor reputation when they first started. They are a fairly new manufacturer but their fast growth, particularly in USA, has forced their quality controls to sky rocket, and the CG guns we buy today are a completely different beastie to the past. So don't be swayed by those negative arguments from the past. I am lucky enough to have a few very nice guns but my Apex is my real pride and joy.

If you like it, then go for it with real confidence mate  :hunter:

Your thoughts?
I shoot a 32 summit for clays and a 32 Maxum 20 g for most of my game shooting. I have had these guns for about 8 yrs now and still haven't had any reason to think about changing to anything else. I have found they are very shootable straight from the box, the importers are very nice people who are willing to help with anything concerning their guns, they are great value for money, you get a lot of gun for very reasonable money.
I think the Maxum side plate is very nice looking and pound for pound looks like it should be worth twice as much.
Like every gun it's personal choice.
My personal choice at the time was to let go my perazzi mx8 and instead got both my CG,s.
Try the gun out and see what you think. You may just click with it.

Just a foot note on this. Coley,s have a country day at phils shooting ground later this year and the guys from Guerini are there with all their range of guns for you to try ,ideal way to try new guns, talk to the guys, have some fun.

Whatever you decide on good luck and good shooting.

Daz.

A mate of mine has a CG Maxum 30", he loves it, as othets have said a lot of gun for your money, his is 2-3 year old and still very stiff to open and close, he would hve expected this to have freed off by now, don't know if anyone else has this problem?

If it was from new I would expect it to ease a bit in the action after about 15 to 20 thousand carts through it. Also make sure it's greased and oiled in the right places.

I know Adam off here loves his, not aware of him having a stiff one (ooooooh maaaatron) and his is pretty new...
