Not sure whose fault but if you were planning to shoot both the ABT and UT selection shots this year be prepared to travel to Southern counties on two sodding consecutive weekends in April!!!

Brilliant planning on someone's behalf....not!

DT

ABT is under Cpsa and UT is under BICTSF.

Does that answer the question

We.......apparently voted for (or not) ....the people in the decision making positions ..

Sooooooo glad I do not have to be bothered anymore ....

Yes and if you are doing ot as well then 3 trips to sc in April.

Decisions to be made soon as to what to concentrate on.

Blimey, might as well move down there for the month!

Or not do any of them and rely on the results from the other three selection shoots (not for me of course but for Harry).

I think we will see how the shooting goes up to April before we decide whether to bother.

It is just ridiculous expecting that all those interested have to travel to the ends of the earth 3 times in one month.

Have they decided the format of the OT shoots yet?

125, 200, 100 or 125 on each day etc.

I still believe that if they dumped the 125 format over 2 days attendances will increase.

It was tried a couple of years ago to do 200, problem was that they didn't publicise it (i found out in the week before the first shoot and most had already decided to stick with UT or ABT.)

I spoke to a lot who said if they'd known earlier they would have done the OT.

Just spoken to paul but for those that dont know yet it seems to be 2x 100 selections over each weekend 3x weekends in total, unless of course they change there minds again. Monday I beleive is when the venues other than sc will be released.

yes and the trouble is that there all miles away from us northerners. Why not do like the dtl do, submit your best 4 reg scores from 3 grounds then the top however many get invited to a selection shoot plus the english open score to finalise. That way you can shoot when and were as suits and also one would assume that grounds will have more entries on reg shoots through the season as people chase scores.

So is that 6 x 100 target selection shoots (best 4 scores to count) or 3 x 200 target shoots (with 2 or even 3 scores to count)??

It does seem a stupid state of affairs indeed. So why don't people vote with their feet? Looks like a farce, especially for guys from up north.

looking at the abt selections I have Beverley 10 minutes away bisley 260 miles away brook bank 250 miles and southern counties 303 miles away ! looking at 3 weekends away from home probably £1200 its no brainer ! also the English and british all round is at southern counties how many are going to travel for this ? not many in my opinion, why not have it in the midlands Nottingham, doveridge, northamptom,  etc

6x 100 and i think 4 to count
That sounds better, the hanging around for the 50 on day two of a 125 selection weekend was poor, especially if you had some miles to cover on the Sunday afternoon! Glad they've changed the format, either get it done in a day or make it worthwhile over the two days with 200 birds.

Dates and venues now on cpsa, seems its now 3x 200 with 2 to count.

That's weird - those shoots were made by BICTSF into 6 x 100 + final each day of each weekend so shooters could pick and choose. Now the CPSA has made them back into 200 target shoots both days to count.

That's what it says for the England teM selection. Might be different fo GB.

The point was made last year thst the English team is assumed to have become part of the GB set up. The other home nations have much greater independence and use their own criteria.

Don't mention funding for heavens sake......DOE!!!!!

If that is the case.....I do wish that CPSA would stop ducking around with the selection of the international discplines (even if it is just an England badge).....becuase the BICTSF seem to be able to duck it up all by themselves......it is not big or clever for you to join in as well......!!

........Just saying...!

Just commening on what Fred said about the BICTSF making the GB shoots 6 X100 +final and the cpsa having published England selection as 200 over a weekend.

Both scenarios look as though they could work together at the same shoots. if they chose to do it. (Not up to me)

As I said the other home nations don't stick with what the BICTSF do so two criteria in a single format could in theory work.

Same shooters get to go for both teams and it takes into account that not all England hopefuls will make the final.

They could also stay with 125 over 2 day for all I care. Just is i won't be going unless I walk out of a shower 25 years younger, averaging 117 or it's on the doorstep.

Just have to wait and see what's decided.
