Castellani vest - question about recoil pad

Hey all,

gonna treat myself with Castellani vest

there are fabric and suede recoil pads... i think i get the fabric pad idea but suede?

Anyone could explain? How thin are they? How stiff? Pic of suede recoil pad?

Great Vest been wearing mine for about three years now...everyman and his dog wears a London vest to be honest the suede patch is not a recoil pad just a reinforcing for the gun mount.

ditto the above, great vest and Italian styling much better than anything else on the market.

I have a suede one (summer) - as jw said it is "skin thin" - still I love it - I don't fiddle with cartridges and myMiroku has a factory solid hard pad.

Take care beacause - there is more than meets the eye at first glance - summer ones (fabric and suede) are a "trap kind" - meaning suede is great for premounted style or like in my case works fine since I have a factory (hard) Miroku pad even when shooting FITASC. The other thing that is worth to notice - summer ones have single pockets - fine if you are set on cartridge type like trap or skeet.

Fabric "sporter" - doesn't snag on regular sporting rubber pads + has double pockets so you can carry different cartridges + has a big back pocket for "stuff".

 I am a large size and I have an Italian 56 which they say is UK 46

think mine is a 44 but my mum had too take it in a bit.

I am M/L and mine is Italian 50, UK40.

Great vests, had mine about a year, maybe longer. Sizing is pretty good, I had advice to order a size larger than I usually take, I did that and had to return it as I couldn't even reach the bottom of the pockets.
