So, once a year we get the chance to find out which County in the UK is best for Sporting?
This opportunity is NEXT WEEKEND! 6/7th October. Westfield SG.
We've had about 10 counties submit teams so far - these include Yorkshire (only a ladies team so far), Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and more on the way.
The teams don't have to shoot together, they can all turn up on their own either day - the computer will work out which team wins as we tell it who is in which team (very clever little thing!)
It's run over 2 days as a normal shoot that everyone is welcome to attend whether they're part of a team or not. It's not squadded, 100 birds reg with the type of targets you're all used to when Steves 'kicking the trap wheels' ha ha
Each county can have more than one team submitted - so you can have your A Team, B Team etc. Each team can only win within their own remit (ie you can't mix scores from A and B team to get a new team - that would be cheating!!).
You need either all or any combination of the following:
6 Seniors (5 scores to count)
3 Ladies, 3 Juniors and 3 Vets (2 scores to count).
You can enter just one category and compete (as Yorkshire have done entering just a Ladies team so far), you can enter people in all categories, a couple of categories - up to you. You may only have 5 Seniors and 2 Ladies - that's fine, it meets the minimum score requirements.
So come on - if you haven't been contacted by anyone to shoot as part of the team, be the one to make the team!! Most counties have facebook pages and websites, have a look who the sporting rep is and see if there's a team being put together, if not - take the initiative! What have you got to lose?
email your team to me at [email protected] CPSA numbers are helpful but not essential. Pay on the day (£38 Comp, £33 BO inc £3 levy to CPSA, £5 into prize pot).
