I have loaded about six days last season but not double guns. I have a question.

what's the point / benefit ?

I can load pretty darned quick and what I don't get is how double gunning can be faster than stuffing one gun. So loader passes loaded gun and takes the shot one. He cant pass it back any quicker than he can eject and reload. Am I missing something ???

Its etiquette one must have a matched pair ( neandertal )

You do not stump so low as to load your own gun !

Ben h put a film on fb of a cliant double gunning this season, and if you saw that you would understand, the loader was amazing.

Done well it's twIce the speed of stuffing, makes the third bird and fifth birds of the 'covey' more relaxed

I would like to see that

Look for some of the YouTube clips, it's an art form done well, would be good on a simulated day shared with friends.

art form, I can believe that. If its faster than stuffing one gun it must be insane....

Sorry i dont know how to share it bu as PP says have look around you tube, you will be very surprised how good a good double gun loader is.

wow that is fast ?

this is very cool, the loader is my new hero

That's really slick.

I'm willing to bet that's not the first time that chap has done that.

indeed ?

I have seen clips of double gunning before but never really paid much attention . I could not see how it could be done faster than stuffing one, hence the post. I stand corrected. And i want a go ?

as an aside I have found loading to be as much if not more fun than actually pulling the trigger. A lot cheaper too ?

ruddy ell.

them grouse are shiffting. Picking one to shoot at must be hard enough. Dangerous for a loader too, have to be nimble on your feet.

keep your head down...INCOMING

Very good, but I did see some grouse double gunning stuff.  It's a good job grouse shooting is so expensive because if I could afford it I would ignore everything else..  just need euromillions lottery..

A true pair of driven Grouse guns, with double or single NONE selective trigger in S x S format, would have tight choke/no choke in the No.1 gun, then no choke/tight choke in the No. 2 gun.  One out in front, one overhead, switch guns, one just behind and one going away (or a picker up, whichever came first  ! ).  Occasionally some of these pairs turn up for sale, but are usually high grade and thus high price !

ips,

Ignore this thread, if you are unable to cope with 2 triggers, then God help you with FOUR  !
