No I haven't bought one, but managed to fetch one off the racks today for a look see. It had 30" barrels but although it does seem a lot of gun unfortunately I felt it barrel heavy which is odd given all the reviews seem to rave about its balance!

The build quality is fantastic as you'd expect, the fore end looks and feels right, the mounted sight picture is very positive but personally I did not like the grip much, too thick with a large palm swell  , having said that the trigger finger ended up perfectly positioned, better than my own gun in fact.

I'm certain they shoot well but I would sooner shoot one side by side with a used DT10 if I were ever wanting to buy one as I feel that to dial out the barrel heaviness may well make to the whole gun a bit on the chubby side.

I picked a trap gun version up this weekend too. A nice well finished gun, very barrel heavy, needed a monte Carlo stock IMHO.

Didn't feel as good as my DT10 or perazzi.

My 32" DT11 now has 2oz of lead at the back of the stock, 4 washers between the top screw and the recoil pad and the comb built up with paper towel and black tape.

p.s. the 30" feels more barrel heavie than the 32".......

With that much modification, surely that's a lot of money for something that's not right? A new perazzi would be fit to you for almost that price....

Don't talk pish!!! Cost? Two cartridges (2oz lead) 4 washers, 8p.......paper and electric tape, eh, less that a pound!!!

So, where do I buy this new Perazzi for £5350??? Do I get a spare trigger for when the leaf springs break?

pish an exclamation of impatience or contempt a bit late for this :D

Thje DT11 has more weight in the action. With the 32 inch, it works very well for me better than my old Dt10L. It has half the percieved recoil. It also patterns much denser. I made some 40 plus yarder disappear with Skt chokes today. BTW, Yesterday I won my first sporting tournament in a good number of years shooting a mandatory 24gr 7 steel load with Skt and IC. I dropped the first two birds shooting in front and a few others (first bird out) also. I had to take the birds further out so that the difference in velocity below 30 yards did not affect lead. I shoot 1145 FPS and this was 1350 FPS! One 40 or so yard bird was hit so hard that it deviated substantialy away but did not break. Give me a break about this steel crap!

32 in i tried was lovely, but not for those with small hands

I'd be interested in knowing the weight of the barrels and also whether you can get flush chokes as the sticky out ones don't do it for me personally.

I was referring to £5k plus for a gun that's not right, not the cost of the modification. Bywell have a new mx8 for £5250.

Not many guns are "right" off the shelf. Most need tweaking in various ways to accomodate personal preferences. Ballance is a big one, depeneds how and what you shoot as to what is right.

Bang some Mullers in there, that will bring the muzzle weight down a touch...more than a touch.

This mx8 at Bywell, for that money, dose it come with a custom factory fitted stock? No, thought not!!! A new mx8 will not fit me off the shelf!!! I'm 6 foot, 15 1/2 stone with a 34" waist, I do manual work 7 days a week and have hands like shovels. I actualy thought my gun fitted me, it didn't, i just didn't know any better, nobody had ever showen me!!! The very first thing Ben H told me at my lesson is eched on my mind,

"what do you shoot?"

"I've just bought a DT11"

"Mate, your gun don't fit"

"Eh? How can you tell that from just asking what I shoot, is it because it's a Beretta?"

"No gun will ever fit you strait off the shelf, I've not really seen a DT11 yet"

The adjustments Ben made looked quite minor, but the difference to how the gun fits/shoots quite dramatic.......

Tom Young sells flush fitting Optima HP chokes (and ported exterded) made by Gemini of Italy. One of the Olympic medalists had a Gemini ported choke in his bottom barrel.......
