Bang some Mullers in there, that will bring the muzzle weight down a touch...more than a touch.
How much lighter that Optima HP's can the be??? HP's are vert light as it is.......

I got a Perazzi MX8 for just over £3.5K last year. With adjustable comb. Balance perfect ........just wrong pitch...... so I also used washers to play around with fit ......easy to sort out.....then when happy I lobbed off just short of a inch.....works great. You can find them out there if you look hard enough!!!

But............then you find something like Evo Comp!!!!!

(Well it would be silly not to.............!!!.....all that high tech at your fingertips.......I cannot wait.....plus the recoil reduction......bring it on).

So point is......every gun is 'ok' but when it is fitted to you it is soooooooo much better.......and when there is new tech.....even better!!!!

Darkside.......I am going to nick pish as well if you do not mind :)

Tom Young sells flush fitting Optima HP chokes (and ported exterded) made by Gemini of Italy. One of the Olympic medalists had a Gemini ported choke in his bottom barrel.......
Also Chokes from the New Silver Pigeon which are flush Optima fit the 682 Gold E so should fit the DT's also.

Darkside Tom can get you an adjustable comb fitted, the one he got sorted on my 682 is very good, trying to stay away from him as I want one for my Silver Pigeon aswell.

Chiefy

Chiefy I know what Darky is doing ........it is like the puppy advert........he like the feel of the padded tissue on his soft face.....I would like to know how you waterproof it though , for shooting in the rain?

Hell fire.......is that the time ????

Best get out of bed......speak later campers....busy busy busy :)

Hmmm strange....

Personally I was surprised at how heavy the extended HP chokes are, and how different the gun feels with the chokes out. They are noticeably heavier than standard Optima extended.

Like Hammy I prefer flush chokes and It's only 15 miles down to Nigel Teague's place.....

Chief,

At this moment in time, 1000 extra shells will do me more good than an adjustable comb!!! Got a 1/4 choke on order, glad I'm not in a hurry, GMK are pathetically slow, none in stock!!!

Nicola,

Correct!!!! I like that soft Andrex puppy feeling, it's just the two layers of electric tape that waterproof the paper that's not so soft!!!

What type of 1/4 choke have you on order ? I got one new extended Beretta from Gilsan Sports at last years fair, they took it out a semi auto pigeon gun as they never use Full chokes, they could also do the same with 1/4 from a Wildfowler style of semi auto, worth a ring. There are a few around on Guntrader and Gunstar.

I am not going to ask why you want another 1/4 choke as I use two 3/4 chokes.

Chiefy

The thing is Chiefy, Beretta changed the Optima choke system yet again for the SV10, A400 & DT11 ranges. So now there are 3 varieties of Optima choke which won't interchange with each other.

Chief, im in no hurry. Choke is on order with Tom. You stick to 3/4 and 3/4 if you want..........but there is nothing at Housten that needs any more than 1/2, most would be fine with 1/4!!! There's not many sporting targets that I have felt the need for 3/4 choke even at fitasc in my short time in the sport............that's at the 14 different grounds, in 3 different countrys!!! So far...........

Dont you feel you are handicapping yourself a bit with 2x 3/4s all the time mate?

Nope, if I miss it's me at fault and the muzzle not in the right place, if the muzzle is not in the right place won't matter which choke you have in.

Now thats my view and not many will agree so I am glad for you, also glad if you are are one of those that has a use for the barrel selector on a Beretta.

Chiefy

Nerer use the barrel selector, the choke I want to use first is always in the bottom barrel........I'll always take 9 breaks and a chip over 9 "smokes" every time!!!

It's either kill or loss, there is no bounus points for hitting a 15yd rabbit with a pattern the size of the clay..........

Am I the only one who thinks Muller chokes look fugly?!?!
Well, they aren't spangly like some ported chokes etc, but I think they look quite sleek and functional.

I have Optima in mine. My extended Brileys, non ported weigh 25g each, my standard flush fit weigh 19g, my Mullers weigh 12g.

I don't have the extended Beretta chokes here to check, but go on 50g for the pair, against 24 for Mullers.

If you look at things like Rhinos, they weigh about 60g each.

At 15 yards it won't make a midges baw hair of a difference which choke you have in as the spread is much of a muchness.

Can't say I have ever missed a clay and blamed having the wrong choke in ?

I think you would be surpised.... That is the target I take my big chokes out and put an open one in. Makes a noticable difference through mine, but yours could be different. my spread at 15 yards is about the size of my fist, bar the odd straggler. Queue jokes re fisting birds.....

"I heard that Ed, openly chokes birds, if they need fisting."

Something like that?
