I shot this, their registered course, at 10.00am. Half was a derivative of the Blue course from the Classic, but mostly different cage positions and adjusted traps. A good mix of close and far, easier and harder.

I got caught out totally by the looper in the butt, never hitting it. Hamster joined me for a second go, for my side by side entry and smacked them all.. I later found it well by using maintained lead.. but too late.

I finished on 82, which felt a good 6 fewer than it should have been.

A nice shoot, all in all.

Hi Will,

Nice to meet your lovely wife, shame she couldn't join us, I feel exactly the same as you, maybe 6 light of where I should be with my 83!!

This is only my second ever round at Churchill and I feel sure shooting regularly at some grounds would help. Just as last year I think they got the difficulty spot on for a registered, absolutely no silliness anywhere but difficult not to miss all the same. It is a real shame its so far from me as I could definitely get to like these targets and it's a nice place to be too.

Cheers. You had to mention beating me. :))))

Fred Townsend hit 93, which is likely enough for HG I feel. Entries are until 6, so we won't know for a bit..

One negative I will mention is the actual stands though, for such a premier place every one of them features ugly, thin and square front bars that are too low. The least they could do is dress them in barrel friendly foam as I like to rest my gun as I'm loading :) .

PS. If I was shooting a side by side I doubt I would get anywhere near your score.

I thought it was a Good shoot ,had a downer on rabbits today (why ive no idea).Reckon Freds 93 wont be far away.

Clever , have a word with David and get him to put 1/2 choke in that auto instead of full !!

There's no telling him!! I think he feels he loses focus if he can't produce soot..

i liked the shoot today - started badly on the crosser trying to shoot maintained lead, totally mucked up the teal stand by stopping the gun dropped a few here and there but definately hit more than i would of done 6 months ago so making some progress

lately been hitting 70 - 80% of targets but then having two or three bad stands by not reading the target or repeating the miss?? and putting me in the 60% region

oh and couldnt find the battue on stand 6 at all

I learned to shoot those fast dropping battles maintained lead a few months back. Why then did I insist on repeatedly missing it by swinging through, ending up above it? Sussed it last time on sxs shoot. Durr..

I would hazard a guess it would take a blowtorch to get the full out of the old pogo stick :.: :.:

Shot early afternoon,

enjoyable shoot nice mix of targets, managed an 87 - dropped 6 of those in the last two stands!

The rabbit on the skeet range seemed tame though compared to how it was on the classic!

never made a difference to my shooting I have changed chokes in thepast 1/2 1/4 skeet etc. Its hasnt made the slightest difference to my scores. I am at present an average shot which is reflected in my scores, the issue is about my abilites which are found wantingn when the going gets tough no matter what choke I stick in the pogo stick. I shot the Hornet with a full choke and Churchills with a full choke ?? I shot the Classic with a full choke and had a stinker ?
