i have been to churchills for the last two days and have to say a big well done to rob fenwick and team . i shot the fitasc on tuesday and it was one of the best ive shot in a long time some really deceptive angles hidden in there , i didnt shoot it to my best but the score of 92 was excellent from dave carrie . sportrap yesterday again not my finest hour but good well presented clays on all four layouts and again an excellent score of 96 is winning will it be topped today ????

i must admit i was scepticle at first that there wouldnt be enough room to do both championships there but after the last two days i stand corrected ,really looking forward to the prelim tommorrow and the main event on sat and sun .

had the real pleasure of teaming up with Rob fenwick , sir edward dashwood and my shooting mate dave kempley to shoot round the fifty bird practice yesterday , great fun and fluffy rabbits flying around , but rob you let me down on the tower stand get out and practice it more !!!!

excellent all round

one final note , team USA turned up on their team coach and yet again was really impressed with the team sprit these boys and girls have between themselves , excellent to witness this

Totally agree with what you said Steve. Shot the sport trap on tuesday after getting a late entry and so glad i did ,great targets something for everyone.

Looking forward to the weekend.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Many of us never doubted that any major EJ Churchill would be successful. Ways of presenting these types of main events have moved on so much in the last few years around the globe. The expectation is that they are more professional.

EJC are a very good, well set up business. As mentioned previously they are far more than a shooting ground with lots of land.

Lets hope the rain holds off today ....it s meant to be a stinker...!!

As for Team USA......Team USA are always a credit in whatever discipline and wherever you see them on World circuits. They are strong, committed and ALWAYS work as a team....!

Great lessons could be learned from their ways of building strong teams who play nice with each other for the end goal....winning...! Their Helice teams are cracking good and always very very dangerous (as in winning potential).

Good luck to all those shooting this week...!!

Totally agree with what Steve has said, haven't been down yet but from what I hear it looks fantastic and it's all working well.

Yes Tinkerbell, it is true events are more professional in the last couple of years, would have been nice in 2012 to have had the extra £25k income Churchills have had to put this event on, would have gone a long way in making things look even better than they did but no way would we have been allowed to charge what they are charging.  Would also have been nice to have had all the staff that CPSA and Promatic have thrown at the event on this occasion.  As I recall it was just me and Steve there up until 2 days before it all started and Steve was setting everything up, all four locations....... Just saying.

As they saying goes.... you get what you pay for and at many of the beautiful grounds around, you most certainly do pay for it all.

Ali....

Take a breath sweetie...I think you might have misunderstood.

It was a complimenting post and not a negative post.

It was about EJC and what a brilliant job they have done......it was supporting Steves post about what a good job has been done...and not at all connected to whoever put any other events on in the past.

EJC is a great ground. Simples.

Shooting overall is much more professional now on the World Circuits, which you may not know if you do not do them...but i am sure you can remember how Dubai was, and you will have read about the PSCA and you will have seen how Mr Coley's TV thing is coming on better month by month.....I mean....have you seen the size of the big screen going up....fantastic.

I suspect that this will be one of the most enjoyable competitions for sometime and will help boost interest in both shooting and competition. It is an idea place for spectators to walk safely around and watch the sport being played.

Hope that clears that up for you x
