Had a cracking weekend this weekend.
Travelled up to the north of the Netherlands to shoot my first Fitasc of the year.
The Shooting Centre Vulpres near Nieuwe Pakela is a cracking ground and this was my second time here as I shot there last year and they always put on some tough Fitasc targets here.
The surrounding towns and viallages are very Model like with many canals and rivers and foresty, it really is a nice area.
Plenty of wildlife in this area Deer in abundance and also plenty of wildfowl.
The Fitasc Shoot itself was two days 100 targets each day 4 layouts new system.
I was impressed the second day as they literally moved the stands on the layouts completely and changed all of the targets so a lot of effort went in to it. I was told the organizers were there until 9.30pm setting up for the Sunday.
First Day was perfect weather sun and a light breeze and the course was set perfect I think 3 medium layouts and one a little trickier.
Second Day it was like winter all over again! Blowing like crazy some rain and this made some of the targets even harder.
The prize giving was very efficient names were being read out at 4pm and all was done by 5pm and I was on my way home.
The did medal positions for Seniors, Ladies, Vet, Super Vet, Juniors and then 3 classes for cash A,B and C and down to 5th in each. Quite a few of the GB shooters got a draw in class.
Was good to see some other shooters from GB making the trip.
Germany lost to The Netherlands in the team match but I think the GB Shooters did us proud in the individual open! ;-)
