Hi

Is it safe to use an over and under with one barrel using a flush fitting choke and the other fitted with an extended choke. When I say extended I mean one that extends up to 2".

Thanks

Garry

I've shot mine like that a few times not sure my mullers are 2"!

Never had a problem with this and as i use only two tight Muller chokes i often remove the bottom one on the odd closer target.

Aside from easier twirling I've always wondered why?  OK, that's a lie.  I know why and am just surprised (that's a lie too) that shooters buy into the hype (which is all lies) about expended chokes.  I mean, not counting the cool factor which shotguns are in great lack of overall, what is there?

And you'd best watch that the wad doesn't get tipped hitting that extension - - be a real blow to the pattern.

if my choke ever gets expended do i use a flush or extended one?

Extensive and exhaustive tests at Imperial College London and Manchester University have shown that using dissimilar construction chokes can and have set up dangerous sine wave vibration and incompatible resonance . This has been found to loosen some side ribs on certain manufactured guns and catastrophic failure in others. Dr. Erwin Puemans of Keele University is quoted as saying " They just came off in my hands ".

Professor Solomons was last seen at the Wailing Wall.

Do not ever use dissimilar choke configuration or lengths.

Is that Manchester University the one that Manchester United plays for?

Has Hogwarts done any studies on the choke things?
