Hi, just joined the forum and awaiting SGL from Hampshire. Been told 16 weeks! Already read some of the topics on here and much food for thought. Had a couple of lessons and totally hooked.

Apologies, lessons taken at NCSC. Any other places for lesson recommends? Cheers.

I'm gonna guess - Forum New Guy  - Welcome aboard, enjoy ShootClay - let me know if you have any problems.

Hiya,

You are on the same path than me and the missus are on. We did a few have ago's, led on to tuition and now we have our SGL applications in. It is said in Lincolnshire that it averages 12 weeks, however we're only in week 3. Never mind!

Good luck, Steve and Max.

Thanks for the welcome. Firearms officer visit just finished. He's happy. In and out in 25 minutes, now the wait for the licence begins.......

NCSC is good for lessons. If you want more "specialist" lessons of some sort you may need to travel though, it rather depends on what discipline you want to shoot.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I put my application in with Hampshire in April, visit in July, still waiting for licence - 24 weeks so far.

Have you upset them in some way? I mean calling them Plods or even Plebs ( ) does not seem to impress them a great deal. . :D

Owls Lodge Shooting School is just off the A303, good place for some coaching/tuition. Richard Faulds can coach on just about any discipline you want! ;)

Thanks for the steers for instruction. The firearms dude said it could take upto 3 months for the licence to come through and said their manning had been cut by 50%. 24 weeks and counting has put a severe dampener on my expectations!
