As mentioned, went to Four Counties today. Seemed a good turnout, plenty of the faces from here appeared.

Just thought I'd demonstrate that I don't only write a shoot review when I do well!

We went round in numerical order and the first five stands went well, only about 4 away. Stand 6 was my big crash, 3 ex 10! Sim pair of overhead aways. Having missed the left bird three times I decided to try it other way round and got nought.

The very next stand was another clanger, missing three of the high overhead away 'ducks'. I realise that I overlead them to give away 10 birds in two stands.

Next I managed to hit some easy stuff, then tripped up dropping 2 on the sim orange aways. Trying to be too quick.

A final screw up with more over leading on stand 11 parked me on 80. Doesn't sound that awful but I think I failed to make the most of one of their less tough shoots? I predict A to be won on 88/89 and HG to be 95, lets see.

Overall a nice shoot. Just on a personal preference, I would maybe ease up one or two of the tough stands and toughen up a couple of others. Same balance, different way.

I'll be back in March to make amends, targeting a score above my average.

Also went round in numerical order, had a bad start then got it together a bit on stand 4 and then lost it again on stand 11 :( (missed 5 loopers) to end up on 75 .

Good shoot and a good turn out, car park was full ! Nice to see Shootclay members out in force today !

Same as went round in numerical order.

Not to bad a start then came the big crash on stands 6/7, 3 and 4 scored respectively, then came the big recovery only dropping 1 target one the last four stands and that was the last battue on stand 11. Finished with a 74.

99 H/G well shot fauldsy.

Managed to have a steady shoot today, no disasters, including tens on the two hardest stands today. Dropped too many easy birds-under concentrating, finished up with 94. Still a good days work!

I'm with you Clever. Definitely didn't make the most of today. I also shot a 3/10 on stand 6.....but most people were having difficulty there. What cost me was the early easy stands! My close game has sucked in recent weeks......give me a distant target and I'm on it! Carded a 76!

Ah, I think I was behind you on stand 9 ish? You dropped a real close last bird. Nearly asked to handle your gun.. Bad moment :)

shot a 61 which was most poor, a few straights, a few 1 away and some disasters. Think I went a bit far on the pitch adjustment, although very comfortable I think its shooting 110% above!!!!!! missed the stuff I normally muller, 3 ex 10 on the pair of nothing teal and missed every straight overhead duck on both stands. Shooting incommers with a couple of foot under isnt the way forward :( Hey ho taken a couple of washers out and dropped the comb a smidge and will give it a proper set up at owls on Tuesday.

Nowhere near the party in C as there was 2 80's in when we left, which was probably about right.

Quite busy, probably as there was nothing else on and I would have liked to see 12 or 13 stands to alleviate some of the queues, but an enjoyable day out.

Well, the jury is out on this shoot. I saw one of the Wantage C class sandbaggers shoot 39/40 on the last 4 stands at 4C's today. Awesome for a C class shot. I suppose he will be back at his home ground Wylye next week to pick up his usual monthly Direct Debit of winnings!

Sooner or later he may buy bacon rolls all round.

Should ban him from using 7 1/2 Olympics!

And there he is telling me that he can't shoot with 7 1/2s :)

Nice to finally meet you today Robbo. Catch up soon when the security van picks up TipTops winnings again.

Did not see you at all today Will. You must have been off early and gone when me and the Wantage sandbagger chipped up. I think 90 won our class. Bloody good that!

Yes I was gone by 12.30. Got my gun cleaned before Sunday lunch.
90 is a good A score, but if you could just get through stands 6 and 7 the rest just needed a solid method and eyes open really, so I felt somebody would do it.

I think I just need to stop thinking that a lot of targets thrown against a big open background at 4C need big leeed. They don't. Long targets at Westfield are little problem to me, because they are actually distant. I only missed a couple of the quartering / close types today. The rest was deception concerning open backdrop.

Next time..
