Second week in a row at Four Counties for me and a few ShootClayers for the Berkshire county SPT championship.

I was squadded at 13h - and quite a few of the squad arrived after trying to get round Upavon (looking forward to reviews of that one!), some intermittent rain through the day.

Layouts were testing but fair - Fuz, Mrs Fuz and me shot the Blue layout first, with some heavy rain and a stiff breeze, 13 for me - beaten by a high looper again and again. Green Layout was much better - I was straight through to my 4th sim-pair, we had a trap breakdown which was fixed really quickly but I couldn't keep my focus and dropped the first of the sim-pair, a final crosser dropped left me with 23ex25 for the layout which was quite pleasing.

Down the far end of the track for the Red layout - with a trick overhead duck and another high looper - think I scored 16 on that one. The final 25 was the black layout, with a couple of quick birds and a fearsome battue that was really hard to pick up in the light - I think 15 on that one.

For the County - Chris Childerhouse took the title with a 94ex100 - which was great shooting. Great to see so many ShootClay people representing for this one, a format that most of us seemed to enjoy.

Great fun as always, was thinking of doing the upavon review but as I only saw 2/3rds of it I cant really comment :.:

Good thing I had Mrs Fuz going straight to 4 C's as I phoned her on route to shout me up a burger on the mad dash from upavon (Kicked the butt of a Nissan Z roadster thingy until a tractor halted the progress of my trusty corsa van and he caught up :D )

Shot reasonable for a mid 60. Quite happy but threw a few silly ones away, esp on the simmos, should have made sure of the easier bird rather than trying to shoot them "properly" hey ho another learning curve as its only my second or third sportrap.

First attempt at sportrap for me. Stupidly tried the double again, Upavon first then 4C's, and again, I shouldn't have!

Had to leave Upavon after 5 stands to make the sportrap, then arrived late and stressed, put the wrong glasses in my bag......blah blah!!

Went straight into it and struggled with the format, too much to think about with a brain that was already frazzled! Didn't get any better as we went through the layouts, made silly mistakes, only managed a little over 50%, but......I still had a great day out! I'll definitely do this sportrap again.

As always, great to see the Shootclay guys and gals.

Thanks to Sue for fitting me in despite my tardiness! :)

Followed Lord Pewsey to 4Cs at some velocity.

Same really.

Rushed and stressed.

Not ideal for shooting a new format for the first time at competition level.

Enjoyed it muchly.

Shot well considering rushing the first layout. 68/100 (I think mind is fried)

Please correct me if wrong.

You're not wrong, your mind is deffo fried! :.:

Footnote; As always, the scorers/trappers/referees were excellent - a few other grounds could learn a thing or two! ;)

Another great layout from Sue & Brian. Myself and TippTop started at 10am, straight onto the Black, which did do some damage.

Most shooters agreed the green layout was well straightable. Both of us got a 23/25.

Shot an 80/100 last year, posted a 76 this. Not too disappointed with that considering I dropped 17 on the first 2 layouts (Black & Blue, literally)

Very happy just to drop 7 on the last 50 targets. No rain for us!

Really enjoyed the format, bit like a caged version of Fitasc, although it whizzed past pretty quickly, all of a sudden it was over. Short term memory loss meant that I struggled on a few of the sim pairs, just didn't see the second bird on two occassions. Managed to avoid most of the rain, and when the sun eventually came out it was lovely. Great company as always...finished on 71, silly misses on half a dozen more. Definitely looking out for some more sporttrap in the future.
