The BBC have put a database of past Radio Times Issues online...

When I was born:

BBC1 - Cricket from Lords - MCC vs West Indies...

On Radio 1 was 'Whats new' with Guy Blackmore and the week's ' Newly Pressed ' pop records!

You can find out what was on for you at the BBC Genome project : http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/

Grandstand.  And if mum had switched channels after I'd appeared she would have been able to watch Wimbledon.

Rugby Union Football semi-final of county championship between Warwickshire and Middlesex and Music while you work on the Light Programme!

Blimey the Radio Times was first published in the year my Dad was born though he'd have been a few months old before he could have seen the first edition.

Probably similar cack to what we have to endure now but with a much nicer "proper" English accent.

Vision On!
I was born at home so my brother and sister were probably watching it while my mother was occupied upstairs
