Both Lainy and Myself qualified to shoot the Finals at The Midland Game Fair.
The Shoot and qualifiers are set up and run by Clive Bramely and his team from Doveridge.
We didn't know what to expect but had set aside the weekend to play on both days if needed.
The Format is similar to Sportrap with 6 stands fibre wad only.
Seven Traps numbered one to seven scoring points when hit one to seven.
From each stand single full use,
target one and report target
target one and a nominated target. (A/AA had the second pair as Sim)
Now target one was a going away target looked fairly inocuious but in the pairs you had to hit it to score the second target.
Target Two a big Crow.
Target Three a quartering left to right.
Target Four a fast rising right to left crosser.
Target Five a rangey Rabbit.
Target Six a going away looper starting a good distance away.
Target Seven was the new 70mm fast right to left high target.
The Maximum score was 101.
There was a referee on a microphone calling targets and scores.
It was very well run and the targets were very great fun.
There was a big score board so towards the end your brain was working the maths and the targets.
The grandstands were full throughout both days and the crowds felt part of the action supporting their favourites in the traps.
I can highly recommend anyone to try to qualify for the finals as I am sure you will enjoy the format.
I got through one round and Lainy shot great to get through two rounds.
The Truck was won by Mark Cobbold shooting in B class (the class he qualified in) see scores attached.
I hope that gives you a flavour of the finals.
