I’ve done business with and bought guns, bits & pieces and ammo from all but 1 of the gun shops in my area, but recently I went further afield for a new gun because none of the usual suspects had any in stock.

I wanted to get up close to a Prevail 1 in 32” and rang Greenfields because they showed 3 in stock. The guy on the phone did his part well and I set off next day for the 70 mile run to Salisbury. The shop is close to the city centre but not hard to find and I was able to park in the road almost outside in a 1 hour slot for £1.50.

It’s a good size, well stocked shop with an informal atmosphere and popular too judging by the steady flow of punters. I was looked after by Jonathan who was very willing & helpful. We ended up with all 3 of the Prevails out from the stock room and unpacked so that I could choose one to take home.

They also came up with a decent trade on my pristine 686E, so with that and a good deal on both the Prevail and 1,000 Olympics, I left the shop a happy shooter.

Based on a one time experience I would recommend Greenfields without hesitation.

(I might do a review on the gun in a week or 2)

Westward - if you want to do a gun review, I'm happy to post it to the main site as well... always good to get a member post on a gun.

I can vouch for Greenfields too as I bought my MK38 trap gun from there last year. I was fortunate with parking as I was nearly slap bang opposite.

Traded in my old ORE and I was happy with the price, bearing in mind the ejectors were very tired which I declared. Dealt with a tall, young-ish lad (could've been Jonathan, can't remember) and he was fine. As you say, steady flow of punters on a Saturday morning. Pretty well stocked, although they don't stock Fiocchi so I didn't buy any shells.

My score: 7 bangs out of 10

Me too,

I bought my AL391 Urika Teknys Gold from there last year and it was great service despite the shop being mega busy.

They did me a great deal and gave me a really good px on the Browning 525 I traded against the Teknys Gold.

I would recommend them :)

Jon.

Yeah, a good shop is Greenfields, very friendly, very helpful and quite reasonable. It's the local shop to us at Wylye of course so get to deal with them quite often with shooters in Wiltshire and surrounding counties.

Oh and Toby, they now have a massive supply of Fiocchi's at very good prices in deed...ask Rob Philips. :D

Another satisfied customer here. Bought my 682 goldE X-trap from them. Cash sale and did me a rather good deal on the gun and even disconted me a thousand shells that were already on offer to sweeten the deal :)

Yep .. I use them to as they are local to me , had some good deals of them in the past

I was in there Saturday, went in for a slab of game catridges but came out with a 1000 clay cartridges Fiocchi 7.5 28g Plastic wad for £150 (thanks for the heads up on them Rob)... cracking cartridge IMO and they dont half hit hard !

I've used them as well, a couple of years ago, following a recommendation from John Peck and Ian Stone we took Hazel's gun down to be checked for correct fit, lad who served us seemed pretty knowledgable and measured the length of pull and made a recommendation they then cut the stock and fitted a recoil pad, for not a lot of money just over a £100.00 and a reasonable turn around time. When we collected the gun they made sure the length and fit was good before we left.

Have also brought cartridges from them in the past and the always appear to have agood selection of guns in stock.

Andy
