Your not changing anything during a round of trap surely? People do things for many reasons but I don't think you will find a good trap shooter adjusting his gun.
LMAO watching folks twirling the dials with no reference to where they are or where they're going. And usually not a clue about what all that does anyway. The real danger to me is to take enough interest in what they're doing to as them how it's going.
I only ever had one gun with an adjustable stock and I never did settle with it. Im rather old school and prefer nothing that can be fiddled with, mind you i have an adjustable trigger on one of my guns and ive never touched it!
I also agree with Nicola in that adjustability has huge advantages for making sure your gun has the capability to fit you for life.
I have a fully adjustable Gracoil on the rear of my gun as well as a two way adjustable comb - they have been set the same way all summer and i have not touched them.
However.....
I am making a few slight tweaks to things this winter to "hopefully" improve for next season.
New "X-pad" - which is 3-4mm thicker than the kickeez i have just removed today so i will need to wind in the gracoil to keep the same length of pull (LOP). This also works for winter coats etc
Also during a recent coaching session it emerged every so often i stand slightly square on and this means i end up looking down the left side of the beads a touch. So a decision was needed to be made - did i move the comb sidewards to fit or ensure i maintain the correct sight picture by finding a way to be certain of the more side on stance.
Its things like the above that to me are worth the ability to adjust as it saves time and money if you alter something your shooting style or clothing or recoil pad etc.
