As a beginner myself, I am not well versed enough to answer this myself. I am looking to get an O/U for my son and wife to use. My son is 5'4 and my wife about 5'8. Is there a good standard config that I should be looking at for a gun. Weight and length, but is there any gain going for something with a Kick eez recoil system?

Height is not really an issue here. Can I suggest that maybe you visit one of the Shooting Grounds where there is also a gun shop. At least then, they can BOTH try varying guns and perhaps hit a compromise that suits their build and your pocket.

Why make them compromise? If you aren't going to get someone their own gun you might as well hire the club gun every visit.
