Hi All,

Lovely to be here, I mainly shoot rifles (at a variety of distances, calibers and disciplines - plus I reload), but do enjoy a day on the clays from time to time, but having recently decided that 90% my shooting will be target only now I may be here needing help and tips too!  For example, I'm cross eye dominate, and am tall (6ft 4in), and have only really ever got on well with 32/34" semi auto (Urika)...whether it's simply the fit or the single barrel not confusing my eyes, but after years I can only shoot half decent with that particular gun!  Any ideas?!?

However the real reason I'm here is I desperately need some unbiased help with a specialist trap gun...a Browning BT99.  I know these are big in North America for specialised DTL comps, but I would like to know how best to sell it?  I know that there are still some single barrel comps in the south of England, would that help?  Is there a classifieds on this forum that may be used?  I've had some unbiased expert advice (without seeing it) who advised it would be worth between £1500 - £2000 depending on condition, but then I did some digging on Browning's website and found from it's serial number that it is only the 37th BT-99 that Browning first made in 1968!  In which case would it be worth sending it to the USA?!  Anyway, I've included some images below to spark some discussion, but if you can advise on price and/or where to sell it would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Oly

That is an interesting looking gun, must say I've never heard of these specialist single barrel comps down south and I doubt anyone would buy a gun specifically for that purpose as your usual gun would be just as useful.

Apart from lucking into a collector I'd be amazed if that sells for more than a grand, come to think of it, it would have to be a collector even then. If that were mine I would start by putting the word out on US forums such as Shotgunworld.com and Trapshooters.com, importing guns from there to the UK is hellishly difficult and prohibitively expensive but it may just be that someone would take the chance because he'd know it's likely to have seen very little use.

Nice that. Its a single made specifically for ATA i dont think you would get a great deal in uk as single isnt our bag but i reckon thats pretty saleable in US, wonko can probably give a better judgement

All advice appreciated thanks guys. They do sell over here, there's a nice one is on guntrader at the moment for £1900! Might just take a while...and they charge per month! I'm not sure though, but do RFDs just get charged per listing? If so it might be with lodging it with one on a commission basis.

Now to find and read the sales section on here...

Is it not single barrel in 'all round' competitions   ?   The ones that I have shot were, I can still hear all of the "BANG,...........CLICKS" now  !       😄😄

Oh, by the way, nice gun and Welcome,   sorry.

Hi, and welcome.

That's a stunning looking gun. Kind of agree with above.

If you'll get more in the states, sell there, don't forget to take into account any costs getting out to the states.

Also I think an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I hope you get what you want for it, good luck.
