Hi everyone, I've stumbled across this website, and forum whilst searching for an alternative to that on The Guntrader webpages, there no longer seems to be much interest, or activity on the various Guntrader forums, I know that it's primary interest is not clay-shooting, and is primarily a gunbuying/selling business, but the forums did used to be very active, particularly on the Shotgun, Gunsmithing, and Police/Firearm department enquiry sections, does anyone have any idea as to why these forums no longer so active? Anyway, I have been shooting at clays for eight/nine years now, and in that time, have attained a level of unsurpassable mediocrity, I arrived at this clay-shooting eureka-moment, solely by the utilisation of my individual 'Poke & No-Hope Method, aided with a touch of what Rod Brammer described as an 'Ellery Snatch'. (I think most shotgun shooting enthusiasts who have watched the series of Rod Brammer dvd's, would agree that they really are priceless entertainment!!) I enjoy my clay shooting more for the socialising side than engaging in competition, as my informal, relaxed approach does not assist in my maintaining concentration once in the shooting stand, after the first 2 pairs I succumb to the usual barracking of the motley characters I shoot with. Kibworth SG is my most frequented venue, I cannot recommend it highly enough, very well maintained traps, good variety of targets on the Sporting Layout, usually twelve differing stands, 2 DTL layouts. Skeet, Compak(x2) A well stocked Gunshop, excellent cafeteria, serving hot food all day, and, it's only 20 minutes from home!! I also shoot at Sinclairs, near Parsons' Drove, Spalding, very entertaining!! But my favourite shooting ground has to be Grimsthorpe, Lincolnshire. What a fantastic place Mark Russell and his family have created, a veritable clay-shooting Nirvana!! When the Sporting Layout is on, there are fourteen stands, mostly within the trees or on the edge of the woods, no cages to restrict gun movement, or ding that precious EELL, a fabulous place to walk around, let alone shoot! Presently I use a Beretta 692 Skeet Gun (multi-choke), and also a 682GE 30 inch Sporter, and SP1 28 inch Sporter, however, within the past eight years or so, I must have tried every gun there has been in Baz Burnham's Gunshop from £300 to £6k, they've given me huge enjoyment, still don't know which gun I prefer!!
