I have had a set of panther no-post's for less than a year. And today I held the arms (to take them off and change lens) and as the ear piece brushed my ear it fell

off! The smaller section of the arm that goes inside the rubber ear piece had snapped (looks corroded!) about 3/4mm inside the ear piece.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this or what the follow up service is like; as Mulleners will be getting a phone call first thing Monday. I was just about to purchase some additional lenses but will wait to see how they deal with this first!!!

That's a bit annoying! We've done many sets of these and not experienced that particular fault, occasionally issues with the popper system or the bridge but not the sides.

Any issues we have had, Ian at Mulliner's has generally dealt with very quickly, seemingly without much support from the States.

I think he handled the distribution very well, it is a shame they are no longer doing the new product.

Let me know how you get on, i'm sure i've got some parts in the spares box i can send you f.o.c. if needed.

Wow, thanks for the offer, Ed!

I will keep up updated, hopefully it will get resolved quickly!

Ed would you say oakley m frame or oakley radars are better for clays ?

Depends on your face shape and where the stock sits - some people find they are very aware of the bridge piece and top bar with the Radar, others find it fits them more securely than the Mframe.

And THEN, you've got the lens shapes to decide between, Heater, Hybrid, Sweep, Strike and Hybrid S in Mframe, Pitch, Path, Range and XL Blades in Radar  :fie:

Sales-wise, we do slightly more MFrames, possibly because of the lower price point.

The lens availability is pretty much the same although Oakley have said for years the MFrame is being discontinued, and they certainly are phasing out certain options now.

The new Radarlock is very nice, it has a neat hinge on the side that makes changing the lenses SOOO much easier than the original Radar, which was sometimes both a physical and spiritual battle!

I also have a set of Oakley pro MFrame's, thankfully I didn't sell them! But I found the panthers just give me a much clearer field of vision, no nose pad/writing/frame band; which I really like!

Not had any prop with my ones in 2 yrs of ownership. Agree with snipey, i have lost count of how many other sorts i have tried over the years hi def are by far the best IMO

I have a pair and the after service is the worst I've ever encountered with any product I have bought, the nose piece has broke and not one company that deals with them are interested !!! Personally there not worth the money, I have even emailed the states supplier as I only need the plastic nose piece & guess what no reply !!

Glad my ones Havent broken then if thats the case.

The nose piece is a weak.....mine went all slidey.....and then fell off without me noticing......but not sure 'who' you contacted.....??

I simply rang Mulliners and bought a new nose piece.

Hidefs are brilliant for clarity and colours ......but the frame can 'age' with you.....if you shove them in bags etc with just the orange sleeve .......I think I need a new frame sometimes soon because it is getting a bit lopsided.

Hi Nicola I phoned and emailed mullener & thet werent that interested and other outlets as only need the soft plastic nose piece, they would only do whole nose frame ? So emailed importer from states & basically no interest, just think bit poor for expensive glasses, I'm going try spec savers now and see if they can match the piece up !!

No one will sell just the plastic bits. You must have an understanding about manufacturing.....the nose piece comes as one item that is inserted into the frame. What were you wanting to do? Buy the plastic and glue them on.Reality check here....if you do not mind me saying.....

Try again and you will get the proper item made for the job.....anything else is a DIY attempt......true story..!

Edited as iPad went tonto.....

Nicola the soft plastic nose piece is held in place by a small screw, on normal specs these are replaced with ease, it's not a hard fix & when you have expensive glasses shouldn't be a issue, Oakley sell all the separate bits for M Frames no issues, I am merely making the point that at the cost there should be good back up, to buy the whole nose piece is quite expensive, the soft plastic bit should be pence, I have been since told take them into vision express who will put a new one in as they had same problem !!!

The first Panthers had a very small hard nose rest. Very uncomfortable. I used to remove it and bodge on a big rubber one from an M frame. Then the newer Panthers were fitted with a bigger more comfortable nose piece, which if you can obtain, is changeable with small screwdriver. I got some from Mulliners and upgraded last year.

Weirdly, I may well have three of these for sale! (This is due to swapping to post frames for prescription inserts).

(I may also have two Panther frames for sale for same reason..)

Clever, can you pm me details of the items you have for sale / thinking of selling; as I am interested in a spare frame (because I almost got caught when mine broke) and some additional lenses; which I was going to speak to mulliners about tomorrow! I would much prefer good secondhand ones as I won't have to pull my trousers up quite as far as when buying new! haha

The arm on my panthers broke exactly the same ,the metal stem on the arm where the rubber section slides up and down , spoke to Mulliners ,because they were a couple of years old they  werent covered by warranty , but they could supply a new arm for £45.00 , fixed them were a piece of shrink tube over both sections of arm !!
