Ilkley is a nice spot with the usual shops and bars,a good place to earn some brownie points.Yes you can walk upto the moor from town,cow and calf being the popular spot. If memory serves me correct there is a nice hotel/pub there at the bottom.
How ever don't walk on the grass"...............
