exactly what I was talking about

That would be a very dangerous reference as we all know that way too many of the Canadians are frogs French and all right thinking English speakers have nothing to do with a people who have a language that sounds like that.

Your patience and understanding is very much appreciated......... A Newbie section would be great.

Yes the occasional repeated question øs come up. I'm not bothered with it, and it most definitely not as bad as other forums (isn't only limited to shooting, this issue).

I for one enjoy this forum tremendously. I was not a member for a long time, just read in the posts. Then I joined. I have had my share of daft questions (not daft to me though), but always received a polite answer or where in what thread I could find the answer.

And I must admit this is a very civilized place. Disagreements occur, but they never get out of hand with personal insults. Two of the American forums I frequent also, are not that pleasant, always turn in to an online argument.

And there is some very, very routined people in here I'd love to shoot with one day. For two reasons. 1. They seam to be some very nice people. 2. I'm absolutely certain I could learn from them.

Also this place is much better than Facebook, by far.

And a big thank you to admin, I appreciate the time and effort to keep this place up and running. Is nice and structured, and people seem to post in the correct sub categories (makes it easier to find things I look for). Only suggestion I have, is where the 5 posts with activity shows, make that 10. Often new posts disappear fast due to 4 or 5 hot topics.

In my opinion constant failure of people to actually use the search feature and just simply repeat the, what new gun, which chokes should i use and the new favourite plastic wad pollution and what are peoples opinion on fibre are devaluing this forum.

It is obvious that some long time members rarely sign in let alone join in a thread.

POI,POA,etc have always been contentious and repeated occasionally but at least somewhat constructive but regarded as amusement and a joke to some.

This is not a rant against newbies just maybe a rant at people who are to lazy to actually look for content.

Looking forward to the possibility of some original post material...
It’s interesting that this topic has come up. Those with a good memory may recall that about a year ago I asked the very same question.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a problem of the same questions being asked, irritating though that is. I think we have simply run out of useful questions to ask each other or topics to discuss. The most recent post of ‘How many guns do you own?’ seems to prove this only too clearly.

It’s not peculiar to this website. I used to regularly follow the Guntrader forums and trapshooters.com until they went the same way. Sadly, as far as a means for general shooting discussion is concerned, I think we’ve said all we need to say.

Mentioned it earlier, the search engine isn't the greatest, so not sure you can blame people for not using it as it's not always accessible. As an example, I started a thread about cartridge failures, plural, but if you search titles for the word 'failure', singular, it doesn't come up with a hit; it has to be the plural version or nothing so there's absolutely no degree of assimilation within a word allowed.

Just the way this forum search is modelled, nothing more.

I believe that things have gone quiet(er) since a major contributer left the forum. I seem to remember that current affairs in the shooting world provided a lot of content (cpsa,British shooting, BICTSF, BASC. Bun Club etc. ) Topics that most understand and may have an opinion on.  Much of this has gone leaving the "what's the best starter gun" type stuff left.

I did try with the What's happens to the shoot in Dubai.

Shoot write ups are always good.

I had no idea that ips was considered a major contributor, tho his pretending that his model truck was real and that posturing as a world class dog trainer was amusing.

I feel that did lose a lot of momentum when SheWhoCannotBeNamed decided to vacate the premises.  Outspoken advocates rarely make friends among the establishment and pointing out the faults of organizations generally not popular with the vested members either.  Just a thot

bye then .

What?   Everything.

Why?  A number of reasons - too many to go into here, but in summary I wasn't enjoying it anymore, and my logic is that if I am going to spend a lot of time and money doing something - then I really should enjoy it.

Thanks to everyone that messaged me and called to ask if I was OK - I'm absolutely fine, just spending my time & money elsewhere now!
I was the same about ***  !  After nearly losing my eyesight, I went back to shooting though  !     :giveheart:
