My first reg of the year, 11 stands (6 at 10, 5 of 8) , started off like a train with a 9/10 & a 7/8 on stands 1 & 2 before the wheels wobbled. Rather strangely when watching orhers shoot the stands the birds that appeared difficult (often missed more than not) I managed quite well on but the birds that looked that they were already in the bag I missed too any of, no more so than on stand 11 the first of a report pair straight on bird I dropped all 4 having watched 5 guys hit all 4.
Overall my ear-wigging caught that generally it was a decent shoot with plenty to catch you out, mix of speeds and clever use of angles, couple of targets with distance, a DTL type target going up the bank very elusive, perversely I hit two of these only to then miss the easier crosser, but that's why I'm in C.
In all I carded 57, which for me a 60% shooter I'm not too unhappy with, the scoreboard looked up and down in all the classes so I'm taking the positives.
Having shot nothing bar practice ( excl Growler) for months I'm also now in the "the only practice for competition is competition camp"
Leading when I left was a certain C Childerhouse with a 97 which l think was 6 clearly the time.
Onto the next for me.
