I wanted to make something with the old cartridges and decided on a clock. I made the first one as a gift to my step son, who's just bought his first house. But my wife decided that she wanted it. So i made another for him.

The first clock is made of Elm, the second clock is Oak

I have loads of military 7.62 brass, some have little dents where they were ejected, so i had a go at making some cuff links

Hope you like them.

Really impressive workmanship and quirky :goodjob:   . Bryn (the one with fluffy lugs and an attitude) has a collar with .410 carts

Fab....how do you get the end bits so flat....? I tried to do something similar but really struggled to make them look as tidy as you have....

Hi Jennie, if you mean the cartridges flat to the wood? I use a 20mm, forstner bit but then have to use a small barrel shaped flapper sanding disk, like a dremel sander. I use this to make the hole 21 ish mm so the cartridge goes in and the lip sits nicely flush with the top of the wood. It's a pain as they don’t do a 21mm drill bit

Dave, you can get adjustable bits -
