Just bought a 1993 Miroku 3800 trap which is in excellent condition. However the trigger pulls are on the heavy side and could do with a tune up/lightening off. I've done a crude test myself with some fishing scales and the first barrel is about 5 1/2 pounds and the second 6 1/4.

Has anyone any experience with Miroku triggers?

I would assume that any competent gunsmith could do this or are there specialists who do this sort of work?

I am conscious that once the trigger pulls are lightened then there is no going back.

Can be done. Nicola had her MK38 trigger pulls lightened. Not sure what price you'd be looking at or even how you go about it TBH

You can increase trigger pulls. Had them done on mine.. Definite gunsmith job.

5.5 lbs is ridiculous. I recommend 4 for sporting.

Interesting topic, havent a clue what the pulls are on my mk38. Not overly heavy and I quite like them as they are but would like a little more refinement, they are just a bit clunky for want of a better word and wouldnt mind having them smoothed out a bit if that is indeed possible.

It is. My Perazzi was originally just over 3 lb and I shot before I meant quite often (fnarr fnarrrr..)

A good gunsmith will sort out your triggers for you.

DO NOT MEDDLE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

It really is no big deal to get rid of unwanted free play and to crisp up the trigger pulls.

Stewart, Is it possible the action needs a service,a good clean and re-lubricating?

Otherwise give our old friend Pete Whylie a call and see if he can do such things.

Vic.
