In an effort to upgrade my £3 safety glasses I have been looking at these http://www.oakley.com/products/6878/25899 I appreciate that they may not be fashionable, but I can get them new for £70. They one with the Red iridium 24-302 lens.

Are these the best way to spend about £70? I have a couple of pairs of fashion Oakleys that I have not shot in, should I consider using those - I don't know he exact lens but one pair are a basic grey and the other a slight brown tinge.

Mr Lyons get over here si needs advice with oakleys!.......ed will be along shortly si

Hi Si - the Radar is a great frame, especially for that price. You can then build up an array of lenses for different conditions - the genuine frames last and last!

Which of the other frames do you have? I would recommend trying a set of the Radars on first to make sure the brow bar isn't too low for you, if they fit ok, go for it!

Thanks Ed, I currently have some e-wires and fives. Am I right in thinking that all the Radars use the same frame - so if I can try one pair on then they will all be the same (not the Radarlock).

Hello

I've just taken the plunge and invested in a set of Pilla Outlaws. I now have three pairs of Oakleys and several lenses that I'm going to list on shootbay. Of the three pairs I have a pair of Radar Polished Black with G30 Vented lens. Comes with an Oakley hard case. Only worn half a dozen times and are as new. Hoping for £100.

Regards Neil

I'm sorry but looking at those it's clear the designer hasn't a clue what shooting specs ought to look like. Granted some go for the racy look and the glasses may be good enough quality and I'm sure some people can even shoot in them but when a gun is mounted the head is no longer in a completely upright position so an awful lot of people would end up looking over the top of those thick top frames, or worse still at them !
