Just wondered if anyone knows whether the new rules for Olympic skeet the change in stand order have actually come into effect? The current rules (Edition 2013) that I have found on the ISSF website are:

9.9.3.3 Target Shooting Sequence for Qualification and "Finals" Rounds
Only one (1) shot may be fired at each target.
STATION TARGET ORDER
1 Single High / Double High – Low
2 Single High / Double High – Low
3 Single High /Double High – Low
4 Single High /Single Low
5 Single Low /Double Low – High
6 Single Low /Double Low – High
7 Double Low - High
4 Double High – Low /Double Low – High
8 Single High /Single Low

However I can't find any confirmation on the CPSA site, in fact the only thing that I can find is from last year:

SHOTGUN RULES

  • Skeet Target Throwing Distance. The distance Skeet targets must travel is increased by 2.00 m from 66.00 m +/1.00 m to 68.00 m +/- 1.00 m.
  • Skeet Course of Fire. Possible changes in the order that the Skeet stations are fired are still under consideration and will be decided as soon as possible.
Now the reason that I ask is that its the Devon OSK Championship at the weekend and im not sure whether these rules need to be run? I'm on the Devon committee and we have a meeting this week in which I could raise these points just not sure which rules should be enforced!

Don't you worry about your county championship.

The new rules are for GB selections and international ISSF shoots.

No one will bother how you want to play it at county level.....if you have enough people who have ties on the same score.

Nicola, so those new rule have come into effect? I couldn't seem to find confirmation if this on the Cpsa website?

Whilst I agree no one would care at county level, I'm looking into dabbling with osk, so would like to shoot it as it should be done. Would you think somewhere like Southern Counties would be using these new rules for a normal registered event?

quite right Snipey , rules is rules and shame on you Nicola for suggesting to do what they liked . Tut tut :)

The new rules came into effect from January 2013. So all CPSA reg OSK comps will be under the new format. There is also a different format for the semi final and final which are now 16 targets shot in pairs over stands 3,4&5 only.

Sorry.....are you talking about finals? I do not shoot OSK as it scares the hell out of me......thought only the finals had changed....has there been other changes to the earlier round...?

Are the CPSA registereds going to have to run the finals in the new way at every registered shoot??

I know that the BICTSF selection shoot have to.....and the majors will.......but.....do Countiesand registereds now have to do it as well??

Bugger me.....Hope that there are no draws then at our Berkshire one.

(Oh i forgot.....we have done ours already and only got one shooter there for OSK)  :banghead:

That's what I was a little unsure of, it read like it effects qualification and finals but I didn't know whether a normal registered was the same.

Not sure a normal register event will bother with the final....would they?

One OSK shooter in Berkshire, I thought Devon was bad... Should have single squad! .

As posted earlier the qualification sequence has changed and there is a new finals format where the top 6 start from zero and shoot a different sequence of pairs and reverse pairs across stations 3,4,5 then back to 4.

Nicola OSK is not that scary but its a challenge!
 I used to shoot it when it was known as ISU skeet 25 years ago.....I was rubbish.....lucky to get above 10

Fantastic to watch the good ones shoot it though. I am not that quick
